"I had a wonderful experience working with Emerald City Chimney from beginning to end. No one wants to spend money on things like chimney repair, but I would hire this team again in a heartbeat if I needed masonry repair of any kind. They were professional, on-time, on-budget, and a pleasure to work with. A homeowner can't ask for anything more!"

"Work was done professionally and on time. When an issue developed with a new chimney on a metal roof, they kept working the problem until it was fixed. Very pleased with their effort and willingness to make sure everything was as promised."

"Very knowledgeable about fire codes. I wanted to do something that I didn't know was not per code. A different contractor recommended this action. As soon as I discussed my plan with Isaac, he told me it was not per code. They did a great job repairing and resurfacing our fireplace. They also repaired the mortar on both of our chimneys. Great work. Friendly crew."

"For an original 30+yr old chimney, Nathan estimated over $3400 of work and repair needed to be done to (1) remove and replace crown with rebar- reinforced concrete (2)replace chimney flashing and finally (3), install stainless steel cap and damper seal. I asked him if work could be done in 3 phases to soften money issue. He agreed and first phase done with great work completed from start to finish."

"From the beginning to the end, Andrew made the repair process so easy and comfortable. He did a superb job on the repair and worked as our advocate for the insurance reimbursement. Thanks to his professional expertise, we were able to recover what needed to be fixed. Me and my wife highly recommend Andrew if you and your family ever need a water damage recovery."

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

Wood putty is made with a plastic adhesive, while wood filler is made from sawdust or wood products. The primary difference is their application: wood filler is used to repair the interior portions of wood, whereas wood putty is best for exterior sections because it contains chemicals that could damage the inside of the wood. If a crack or hole goes into the middle of the lumber, wood filler is the correct product for the job.

Wood furniture is usually vulnerable to water damage. However, larger furniture tends to have a high chance of being salvaged as long as it hasn’t been standing in water for more than 24 hours. You can restore bedpoles, table and couch legs, and other wood parts that haven’t been fully saturated. Meanwhile, smaller objects like decors or furniture with fabric wrapping may require full replacement.

Leather patches can last anywhere from two to 20 years, depending on use, maintenance, and the environment the leather is in. The longevity of the leather repair also depends on the nature of the original damage and the repairs required. Consult a leather repair specialist about how to make your leather fix last as long as possible.

If your couch is damaged, you are not out of options. You might try fixing it on your own, bring in a furniture repair specialist, or opt to get rid of it responsibly. Depending on its condition, you could donate, sell, recycle, or drop it off at a local scrap facility.

A drawer falling out of place usually indicates there’s too much in it, so the best place to start is by emptying it of any non-essential items to check whether it was simply a weight issue. If that’s not the case, check whether the front panel or hardware is damaged, and replace parts as necessary. You may need to replace the drawer or the drawer slides if the issue persists.
