Seattle Fireplace

Before hiring Seattle Fireplace, I called around to a bunch of other fireplace companies and was essentially told "if you need servicing, the only company in town in Seattle Fireplace." So, I called and set up an appointment. The service guy showed up on time and that's about the end of the good part of this story. He took the fireplace apart, played around with the remote starter for a bit, and after about 5 minutes called someone back at his home office. As far as I can tell, he then simply put the fireplace back together WHILE MAKING SEVERAL PERSONAL CALLS and proceeded to tell me the people who installed the unit had made it unserviceable. No explanation how or why or what my options might be. Just that he would not "accept liability" for trying to make any fixes (and he didn't even explain that to me). He did not take the time to point out why he felt the unit was unserviceable. I'm extremely disappointed and, honestly, a bit angry at the service I received. The service person was unhelpful, rude, and dismissive. If I had any choice in the future, I would not use this company.

Enes and Seattle Fireplace are the best! We are so thrilled to finally have a working gas fireplace. We are customers for life! We will only call Seattle Fireplace whenever we need our fireplace serviced. We moved into our house in May 2008 after it had been completely remodeled, but we could never get our gas fireplace to work. We finally decided to get it serviced. We explained our situation to the first technician who came from another company. He charged us $165, complained that our fireplace was dirty and full of cobwebs but didn't bother to clean it, then spent maybe 10-15 minutes kind of blowing compressed air around the whole fireplace then around the pilot light opening. He couldn't get the pilot light to stay lit, so he told us we needed to replace the pilot light assembly for $1700. Whoa! For a gas fireplace that's practically brand new and never been used? Our next appointment, which I had to make through Yelp, was with Seattle Fireplace; it was a few weeks later but totally worth it. Enes even brought his own vacuum and heavy towels to protect our wood floors while he removed the glass front and vacuumed and cleaned out the whole fireplace. Then he cleaned the pilot light and tried to light it. He figured out there was a small spider stuck in the pilot light opening, so he spent a few minutes blowing it out. After he finally cleared it, he was able to light the pilot light and keep it on. Next, he rearranged the ceramic logs based on the marks on the logs because the other guy just put them back randomly. When he finally turned on the main burner, and the fireplace totally lit up, I was so excited and couldn't stop cheering! So after an hour of service and for $189+tax, we finally have a nice cozy fire in our gas fireplace!

Professional and thorough service

My fireplace was fixed within 90 minutes of my initial call because Ron already had a tech in my area. The tech (sorry, I forgot your name) was friendly, professional, clean, and efficient. He got me going in no time and also vacuumed the fireplace and cleaned the glass too. I'd definitely call again if I have need of their services.

Good work, price was higher than expected. Valve on burner cost around $260, which I had no idea it would be so expensive. Labor cost was $150, which I thought was very fair. Fireplace runs great now.

Unit was connected and functionaly tested. Technician had all required components. Work was professionally performed in short time.

Ron arrived on time to perform a maintenance check on two gas fireplaces in my home. He inspected all elements, cleaned the two glass fronts spotless, and checked/cleaned all other components. He provided very helpful tips on how to use, maintain, and clean my fireplaces safely. Ron did not have any advance knowledge about what type of gas fireplace units I own. So, he is obviously very experienced and knowledgeable because he knew a lot about the two different models that I have in my home, and told me all about the features and benefits of both units and the remote controls. Ron did outstanding work and was in an out in a little over an hour. I also had been experiencing some problems with one of my pilot starters, and he explained why I was having the problem, and showed that the problem could be fixed with a simple battery replacement. The services were provided within the cost estimate that I received when I called to set up the appointment. Since Ron serviced my units, my fireplaces look and work like brand new! I could not be more pleased and will call him again in the future for all my gas fireplace service needs. Please note that Ron is a small business and has an outstanding assistant that does scheduling. When you call them, if there is no answer, it’s because they are helping other customers. So, be sure to leave a message and Ron’s assistant will call you back. Ron’s assistant was very knowledgeable and responsive to my questions and scheduling needs. Great! Punctual, neat, clean, reasonable and professional.

Ron was on time and brought another person with him to help him clean. He replaced the ignition switch lickety split and made it easier for me to open the glass door in the future. Unfortunately he was unable to get the door open on the gas stove fireplace and didn't want to risk breaking the glass which is totally understandable since he said it would cost about $400 to replace the glass if it broke. He really tried and I give him a lot of credit and he explained that we would need to drill out the screw. Ron was professional and quite pleasant and would use him again!

Seattle Fireplace was easy to schedule service; they arrived as promised and performed the work professionally.They are courteous and tidy. While not inexpensive, I feel the service is fairly priced. All three fireplaces performed better and looked better after servicing. I plan on using their services in the future.

Great service. Gas fireplace wasn't coming on, turned out to be the wall switch which they replaced, along with a full service of the fireplace. Plus, the cost was far less than then other providers - I was quoted $400 by the recommended company for my fireplace. Fyi, the company is now called 'Seattle Fireplace', although on Angie's List still goes by 'Gas Safety Services'

Ron was very friendly, arrived on time, paid close attention to keeping his work tidy, and resolved our issue in a very timely and pleasant way. I have never used another fireplace repair service, but I see no reason to look elsewhere after this good experience.

He tried a different receiver box he had in the truck, but it wouldn't work. He finished servicing and cleaning this fireplace and then left. He ordered the box that was required for this system. He called again and let me know that the part had come in and we scheduled another service visit. He arrived, and while he completed the replacement on the first fireplace, his partner cleaned and serviced my second gas fireplace. Now, just as the weather is turning cold, both my fireplaces work and I can happily enjoy warmth and peace. The service was excellent and price was reasonable.

Stellar! Ron arrived on time. Fully prepared with all the tools and equipment for the job.

He was super fast and extremely knowledgeable. He completed what for me would have been an all day project in nothing flat.

Ron did a professional and thorough job. I was concerned that a house inspection mentioned cracks in the chimney. He assured me that these were small and while eventually I should have it resealed, the occasional use of my gas log (which I had not planned to use often) would not be a problem. He thoroughly cleaned the gas log and surround, relit the pilot light and showed me how to relight it myself in the future. I will call him for regular maintenance with no reservation.

I have a gas fireplace that's been turned off for over a year. I wanted get someone to come out and do the regular fireplace maintannace that has to be done every 1-2 years. I found GAS SAFETY SERVICES online and was really glad that I did. Ron was a pleasure to deal with. I called, left a message, got a call back right away and scheduled an appointment. Ron came out right on time, did all the work, explained everything, got everything taken care of. He was very quick and very professional. I very highly recommend him!

Sutter Home and Hearth recommended Gas Safety Services, and Angie's List confirmed good ratings. I called to get an estimate for fixing that fireplace and servicing our other one to make sure it was in good working order. GSS has fixed price servicing which seemed fair and convenient. Ron Swenson was able to schedule a visit for the next week. He arrived right on time and got to work. He ended up taking apart, cleaning and putting back together the fireplace that wasn't working. The other one just needed to be checked and cleaned. It took a little more than an hour all told, including clean-up and settling the bill. I appreciated that he is the business owner. Both fireplaces are now working great, adding some extra warmth and ambience on cold winter evenings.

A few years ago, Gas Safety Services repaired my malfunctioning gas fireplace, so when the fireplace began to randomly turn off the gas and to malfunction, I wanted Gas Safety Services to service my gas fireplace again. Gas Safety Services arrived on time, listened to the issues and then went right to work. The repairs were made and the gas fireplace works great. I would definitely hire them again.

I was referred to Ron from Sutter Home and Hearth as they only service units they sell. I emailed him and he responded within a few hours. We made an appointment for about a week later. He gave a two hour service window but called when he was on his way. He was smiling, polite and very friendly when he arrived. He got right to work, breaking down the fireplace. He knew right away what the problem was and began working to fix it. He was uncomfortable with how some of the wiring was done so he re-wired it without problem. He pulled all the parts out, cleaned and tuned up the blower fan, fixed the pilot light, even cleaned the glass (which I found out is actually ceramic). I found his prices to be on par with everyone else, though his knowledge seemed much more extensive. When he was done he said don't hesitate to call if there are any other problems. Definitely a great service experience and I would highly recommend him.
