The team at Powers Chimney & Masonry did a fantastic job on our fireplace. We had an incredible amount of sticks jammed in our chimney, probably from the squirrels or birds. It was quite alarming. They came in the morning and dismantled the back of our fireplace, removed all of the debris and did a rebuild and were finished in the early afternoon. The fireplace looks perfect and we can't wait for the mortar to cure so we can enjoy a fire. I really appreciated their honesty and communication style. No pressure or pushy sales techniques. I will definitely call them next time I need fireplace or chimney work.

The esrimate was in line with similar work, but their work was very good. The end product made our chimneys look so much better. Also, the workers finished in record time. I highly recommend this company.

My 1938 home (purchased in August 2022) was in need of serious repair, especially the brick exterior and chimney. Several other contractors gave estimates that seemed either clueless or predatory. Then came Ekraam - the master technician from Powers. He was kind enough to make the drive from up north to West Seattle on a Saturday when the bridge was still out! One look at my house and he said that any repair to the brick would be worthless in a couple of years. Better to remove it and replace it or put on siding instead. As for the chimney, he asked why I needed it since the house had no fireplace. Briefly stated, he could have sold me a job but instead he informed and counselled me on how to solve it. I ran out of time for repairs so the lovely and amazingly organized Connie - my contact at powers - arranged for Ekraam to remove the chimney on very short notice. The work was very professional, reasonable and appreciated. Honesty and Knowledge are a great combination! Thank You Ekraam, Connie and Powers Chimney & Masonry!!!!

This company and its employees were AWESOME!! Connie was polite and very knowledgeable when it came to making the appointment for Ekramm to come out and service and clean our wood stove. Ekramm was AWESOME !!! He showed us pictures of how dirty our chimney was and educated us about the wood we use. There is a difference between dry and seasoned wood !!!!! I love it when I learn something new. We will definitely call you out next year to service our wood stove again. Sincerely, The Lindenmayers

I may have given a higher rating but since the work was on the roof I could not actually inspect their work. From street level viewing it looks good.

We bought a house built in 1930; it is partially brick-clad and has two brick chimneys. Our remodel contractor referred us to a mason who, because of other commitments, could only do one aspect of our job, and on completion, referred us to Powers. This was one of the most fortunate referrals we used. Working with Powers starts with a call to the office and from the get-go, that connection is outstanding. Connie was my go-to office person and she is organized, excellent at communicating (notifies you of when and who to expect re estimates and work), follows through with concerns, and handles billings efficiently and transparently. Absolutely A+. Then, there is the actual work: set-up to clean-up is totally professional, and again, transparent. Variety, quality and cost of materials is discussed; questions are answered; work is careful, thorough and efficient. Masonry work needed is assessed and described on a priority basis. If your masonry needs sealing, it is only done after the correct amount of drying time is achieved -- careful scheduling and rescheduling is arranged around the weather and curing of mortar. If you want to re-use bricks, they are chosen deliberately for quality, size, type, and appearance, and they are integrated and set appropriately. Our job involved several independent aspects: chimney inspections, removing and bricking in of a window, sealing, rowlock and wall tuck-pointing, then, new construction with recycled bricks that needed to be matched to existing brickwork. There were multiple visits over a period of time, but continuity was assured through Ekraam, who continued as the lead on all the work done for our job. Another A+. Absolutely everything about this company speaks to ensuring excellent work at a competitive cost. We recommend them highly and are so pleased we were referred to them by another masonry company of established excellent repute.

Had two jobs for them: a pillar and an upper chimney rebuild. Both were done in a thoroughly professional manner. From estimate to clean up, everything was done beyond satisfaction. They are the type of company that makes you wish you had more work for them and I'll gladly call them again. Cost was competitive with other bids I received. My house is over 40 years old and the bricks no longer made but they took extra effort to match them and once again exceeded expectations. I would especially like to mention Connie for her patience is handling my questions. Great office staff is hard to find and she is a gem!

This team was so professional, yet friendly. I am so happy on the chimney repair on my 100 year old home. The chimney draws perfectly and does not make the house smoky. Powers Chimney and Masonry were able to match brick from 1920! I was afraid the new brick repairs would look different. I definitely recommend these folks for your home repairs.

I was given an estimate for the job after they came out and viewed the damage. Then when they came out and took the stones apart from the post, I was told it was a much bigger job than they thought and they doubled the price of the job.
Response from

"We went out to provide a free estimate to a column that had been hit by a car pulling out of the garage. The top of the column cap stones were all knocked loose. They were miter cut and had dye in the mortar. It was a very minimal job and estimate. They mentioned another company said it was to small to estimate or touch. We also wrote on the estimate that this is subject to change upon the discovery of removing the top of the column do to it being hit. The column was real stone and after taking the top off and cleaning up the old mortar, the technician discovered that there was more damage to the natural stone column. He immediately brought it to their attention and told them he could fix it, but it was outside the original $350. He gave them a quote of an addition $300 to rebuild approx 25% of the real stone column. To which they came outside and looked over the proposed change order and bid. They approved of the change order and the repairs were performed for a total of $650.00 After the repairs were done they paid in full and expressed that they were happy with the work. They gave us a 4.5 on quality! They live in a very high end community and and believe that people take advantage of them do to this. We took care of their problem at a very minimal charge and did so in a professional and efficient manner. This is why the other company likely passed on the job. It's very hard for a small company to make it and we pride ourselves on quality, efficiency and offering a fair price regardless of the community you live in."
