"Issue was frosting and ice forming in our freezer. I mentioned at the start of the visit that there was a small gap in the gasket seal but was told this was not the issue and further diagnostics were needed. No issues were found, however, rather than being charged only the standard diagnostic fee we were told the charge was $300 for defrosting the freezer to perform the diagnostics. This charge was not disclosed beforehand. The issue continued. Technician returned and NOW claimed problem was due to the gasket seal. Part was incorrect size and had to be reordered. Did not hear back after about a week. Contacted, and was informed technician was not able to get the part but would install if we could find. We purchased directly from the company. installed at no additional charge and problem resolved, however, would not use again nor recommend this company. "

"I had a problem connecting, so I got a local handyman who came and solved my problem. I asked Neli to stop charging me, and nothing happened, I then went to the "live chat" option on their website and asked how to stop getting charged, I Never got an answer and they just kept charging me, Then they requested that I rate the CHAT!!! Too much on too many fronts. Dr. Gaber"

"Everyone needs a little Terry's Home Repairs in their life. Our oven digital display snapped off and fell through the opening. I talked to an appliance contractor [before finding Terry's Home Repairs] and he indicated that the whole control board would need to be replaced (at a cost of $430). When I asked him if he could provide a refurbished control board or if he can just resecure the existing display back to the opening, his response was "modifications" is not something he would be willing to do. At this point I began doing some research. I located Mr. Terry on Angi's List and after reading reviews and discussing the problem with him over the phone I decided to move forward. He provided an exact time he would be at the home and showed up right on time (on a separate but related note, I am really sick and tired of the 'four hour window' provided by the larger contractors - I am busy as h*** and do not have time to block off four hours of my day). Upon arrival, Mr. Terry identified the issue and provided a new bracket to secure the oven display. While there, he also fixed the exhaust fan (over the range) and also fixed a dryer vent that was coming apart. His price was fair and his work was good. I will be using him moving forward for 'odds and ends' and random things around the home. I like his background (he worked as a mechanic on a cruise ship and also worked in Alaska on HVAC related projects)."

"On time arrival, took shoes off, courteous, and knowledgeable. Looked at multiple appliances (e.g. microwave, dishwasher, washer, and fridge) and explained everything he was doing. Was able to replace the door switch on my microwave (had the OEM part in his cargo van). In the process, a separate issue with the microwave occurred (the interior dome light would no longer come on). He spent several minutes trying to troubleshoot but we could not figure out. We reached a fair agreement on price due to this unfortunate situation. He also provided a temporary fix on my refrigerator’s defrost drip tray (which was cracked and leaking). He provided me with the replacement part number so that I could purchase and do the swap myself (and save money). I appreciated his honesty and professionalism. I will use him again."

"Mega Plumbing Chantilly, Va. (Brian & Pedro) did a great job installing my new dishwasher. They quickly and carefully removed the old dishwasher and quickly and carefully installed and tested the new dishwasher. They made sure everything was done properly and the unit was level and operating correctly. They instructed us on the operation of the new dishwasher. They were very professional, protected the work area and kept it clean. They hauled away the packing material and the old dishwasher. I would recommend them."

"If it was an option I would give no stars. First, they give me 10-2pm appointment then they don't show up at the appointment time. They try to be slick and not coordinate the appointment time with my home warranty company and was just verbal with me over the phone. I found out when I called my home warranty company about them not showing up and I was informed that Mid Atlantic company operates till 5pm and to give them time till 5pm. Then I call Mid Atlantic, they ask if they can come tomorrow and I said no since my dad had been waiting since 10 am. Two Mid Atlantic Techs come close to 5pm who do not know what they are doing and keep going back and forth, so I explain to them how my Furnace is tripping the power. I have to tell him step by step what is happening since they lack ability to diagnose properly, and advise them them accordingly. Tech tells me they will talk to manager if the compressor needs to be replaced but recommends outside and inside unit to be replaced and that the manager will call me back. I get a call with the manager stating he will try to have system replaced, and I told him of course it is over 17 years old. I kept reaching out to manager and he keeps saying he will call back and that he is trying to get unit replaced, but he does not call back. Eventually he stopped picking my call. I call my home warranty company and they tell me that Mid Atlantic stated that customer was rude, demanding whole unit to be replaced whereas Mid Atlantic stated that compressor needs to be replaced. I told the home warranty company that all I need is my heat working, it is freezing outside, and whatever needs to be done, I need that taken care of simple as that, and informed him of the whole scenario. I took time to write this review so no one else goes though this nightmare experience especially in this chilly weather."
