dryer stopped working. Technician Mo came out during the scheduled time
window, with a call ahead, announcing that he is 10 min. away. He
diagnosed the problem quickly (motor kaputt: human error as I forgot to
place the filter back in its place after removing the lint.) As it is
a good product and so "young" we decided to invest in a new motor. It
needed to be ordered and Mo came back installing it when it arrived.
No problem since.
This time around, our 3 year old Electrolux range /
oven needed help as the self cleaning feature did not work. Mo came
back out, again with a phone call ahead within the scheduled time
window. He again diagnosed the problem quickly. (The sensor went bad.)
We are following Mo's recommendation to not use the self cleaning
feature as there are grand possibilities to ruin the motherboard when
using this self cleaning feature (the risk is especially high with high
end , sophisticated ranges.) I bought some baking soda, made a paste
and started cleaning the dirty spot. I could remove some of it, but
then I needed to get a spray bottle of fume free oven cleaner and
finished the job. We did not bother getting the sensor replaced as we
decided to skip the self cleaning feature altogether. Mo has been on
all occasions very professional, courteous and efficient.
Will call them for any appliance repair need in the future. Highly recommend.
TIP: Take a look at their website, I have seen a coupn that applies against the repair of an appliance!
Outstanding on time professional service. Very thorough on inspecting the machine for leaks and performed extensive cleaning. Although no problem found, spent the time on educating us on the proper way to clean and maintain the unit. For $60 , money well spent just on the education he provide us. Nice to find professionals that still care.
REPAIR SYNOPSIS: Expecting to receive all incentives offered, I submitted a service request via an affiliated website and was called by ARL?s call center operator on 18 Sep. I was told a technician could be out to fix my freezer in two days (not the same day or even the next) so I made the appointment. On 20 Sep, the day of the appointment, Mo, the technician, was running late but called twice with updates to assure me he would be there despite his delays.
Visit 1 (20 Sep 14): Mo told me the problem was a broken evaporator fan motor and he needed to order the part. After he diagnosed the problem, he retrieved a magnetic ball of assorted screws and reassembled my freezer. Before he left he asked for $59.95 (contradictory to website policy) for the service call and said he did not accept credit cards (contradictory to website policy). When I asked him why I was being charged the service fee, he assured me not to worry because it would be deducted from the total cost of the repair. At this time, I also mentioned I qualified for the military discount; he said, ?Okay.?
Visit 2 (23 Sep 14): Mo arrived to install the part. What a disaster! My freezer is now able to chill, however, in the process of the repair, he failed to reassemble the fridge properly, damaged the icemaker, broke the light cover and left without reinstalling my rear panel screws. Once the tech left, I inspected the freezer and noticed screws missing from the rear-panel, and the vented panel part was put on crooked so I called Mo immediately to let him know I needed him to return and put back my screws and fix the panel. Mo politely said he would not be able to come back because he was on his way to another job?he had only been gone 5 minutes.
Visit 3 : After making several requests asking for my screws to be returned, finally, ten days later the owner/manager (Sammy) arrived with the screws. During this visit, he mentioned I was missing my light cover (later I found the broken cover on top of the fridge). I discussed my concerns about Mo?s repair with Sammy. Specifically, since the repair the ice-maker had stopped working properly. The auger no longer turned so ice cubes were thin and couldn?t come out the chute in the door. I told Sammy that because the ice-maker worked before the repair, it was the company?s responsibility to fix it. I was shocked to hear him tell me that the ice-maker problem was a separate issue, and if I wanted it fixed, they would do it for a price. In addition to the ice-maker, I also pointed out a crooked vented panel below the screw holes in the rear panel that he tried to fix, but unfortunately, he not only failed to fix the crooked rear vented panel, he never put the missing screws back in the holes, and permanently damaged the rear panel of my freezer by bending it out of shape. I called ARL several times requesting they return my property (screws) but got no response. In fact, I hadn?t heard a word from ARL in five months until this review. Ironically, the evening after they were notified of this review, I was called by a company rep who said he could send someone out to fix my ice-maker and any of the other issues. I said, ?I?m not going to pay you any more money,? and he told me I would not have to and that they would fix everything free of charge. (When he asked me why I didn?t contact ARL to resolve the problem before reporting them to Angie?s List, I told him I tried, but I just got ignored and blown off).
"thank you for using our services our company name is still the same and contact info never changed. you called us on September 23 we were there the same day your refrigerator was not cooling and it did have a bad evaporator motor fan .tech replaced it ..and fridge cooled again with no problem .you called back the afternoon saying that the tech forgot to put some screws back so we send him back the next day ...and it was all fixed ..we never received any calls after that .. the ice maker its a separate system and its not related to what we fixed .we can always replace it for you for a discounted price. any coupon have to be shown the time of the repair and its one coupon at the time .we can not do free service call and military discount together (one at the time)"
"Thank you for using our services..its hard for any technician to make a decision if u dont see where the leak is coming from.and thats what happen the first visit .we run your dishwasher few times and no leaks were found.we are %100 reliable and thats why we responded to your calls and showed up for you on time. The motor is avaialble and its your choice to fix it or not..the overall f rating you put in its not really true.."
The dryer issue was simply a vent cleaning issue and unfortunately it appears that another firm that cleaned the dryer vent only 7 months ago must not have done a good job doing so. Pricing was fair, service required about 90 - 120 minutes of time and we feel confident that the fix will provide peace of mind about future drainage/ leak issues around our dishwasher. Thank you.
Appliance Repair Technicians maybe competent to repair other brands, but if you have an LG appliance, you are much better off going with their factory-authorized service.
My 6-year old LG front-loading washer was stopping mid-cycle and would not complete a load. I called two other repair companies who said they did not service LG, so I thought myself lucky that Appliance Repair LLC said they would service it, and I made an appointment for Monday afternoon between 1 and 3 pm. When the technician did not show or call by 3:30, I called the office and was told that he was detained on an earlier repair that had taken longer than expected, and he would not be able to come until the following day. Although I am retired and can stay home to wait on repairmen, this is still inexcusable in my book, as most customers must take off work for repairs. The technician arrived on schedule the next day, and recommended replacing the sensor assembly, at a cost of $280. I reminded him that the motor was making a groaning noise as it attempted to turn the drum, which suggested to me that the problem was with the motor, not the electronics. He assured me that replacing the sensor would correct the problem. After he replaced the sensor, tested the washer without any load, and left, I attempted to do a load of laundry. The same problems occurred, and I called the company back. They sent the technician out again two days later, who then confirmed that the motor was the cause of the problem. That would have been another $360 repair, so I elected to replace the machine instead. To their credit, Appliance Repair did refund the difference between the initial charge and the basic service call charge, so my final cost was $60.
While researching a new machine, I noticed that the motors on LG washers have very extensive warranties on their motors. When the Appliance Repair technician asked if the washer was under warranty, I replied that it was 6 years old. He did not suggest that anything might still be under warranty, but it turned out that the motor had a 7-year warranty. I called the LG service line, and was told I would be charged only for labor to install the new motor. They dispatched a technician the next business day, who confirmed the motor was defective and also under warranty. He also pointed out that one of the three drum supports was broken. These are shock absorbers that support the drum of a front-loading washer as it does its fancy turns. If one is broken, the drum is unbalanced and won?t turn properly, which was the cause of the burnt-out motor. He seemed surprised that the previous technician had not reported this, as it was clearly visible with the washer back open for service. He replaced the motor, broken support, and a third item he found, for $267, and the washer worked perfectly.
things start melting in my ge freezer . I called appliance repair leader and they were able to fit me in quick . I got a window between 11-2 .Sammy showed up on time and found out that it was a bad fan motor . he had the part in stock(good thing)..so my fridge got fixed the same visit..
ill use them again if I have to
knowledgeable and fixed the problem straight away. The fee charged reflected $50 Angie's List discount.
We developed frost in the freezer about 3 weeks later. I called on December 12 and they immediately gave me an appt window with Sam.
Again, instantly noticed our freezer door was not closing correctly. Tightened the door screw, made sure it was all aligned and he was done.
I was not charged for this visit ... and I would not hesitate to hire him again. Appliance Repair, LLC is lucky to have Sam!
