My dryer wasn't working properly even though the dryer vent is routinely cleaned. I had a new hose put on and the tech said there was probably a blockage. He referred me to Tidewater Chimney Sweeps. What Damon got out of the pipe was jaw dropping. Great job.

I was given a window time of arrival from 12 to 3:00. John phoned and asked if he could arrive sooner than expected, saying he could be at my home by 11:00. John and his partner Damon arrived at 10:45 and came inside to look at the dryer location. They then went outside and started to clean the vent line. The job was completed in under a half hour and whatever lint was removed had gone directly into a bucket. John and Damon were professional and courteous. I forgot to ask for the "Senior" discount, but thought the price was fair and reasonable anyway. I will certainly use this company again and will recommend them any home owner who needs this service.

Very well. Chimney was inspected and stove cleaned. Chimney itself did not require cleaning. John arrived on time and was efficient and thorough. Would definitely use them again, and plan to have them back for inspection again next year.. Price and service far exceed that of larger competitors in the area.

Service was very affordable in comparison to other companies out there. I scheduled a 10 AM cleaning and they were on site by 9:30 AM, a welcomed surprise. Service provider was prepared, fast, clean and proficient. Would definatley recommend hands down and do business again without question.

Tidewater Chimney Sweep really is the best. They are prompt, neat, tidy, careful, thorough, honest and very fair with their pricing. I have been using them for many, many years and they have never let me down. I am in the real estate and property management industry. Once in a while I have a tenant call another chimney sweep and present me with notice that various repairs are necessary. So I have them call Tidewater Chimney Sweep just to find out that the repairs were not necessary at all.
In my experience Tidewater Chimney Sweep is really the best, most affordable and honest chimney sweep in Hampton Roads. Knowing that they are firefighters just makes me even more comfortable as safety is so much more important to them.

I checked Angie's List for a dryer vent/chimney cleaning company, and found Tidewater Chimney Sweeps, LLC. I check them out on the BBB website, and found that they have the highest "A+" rating. I called John Koenig, the owner, who promptly set up an appointment for me during the same week, on a day and time that were convenient for me.

Joe and Nick, both professional firefighters with years of experience cleaning both dryer vents and fireplace flues, came early and were very personable. They explained what they were going to do, and did their job quickly and completely.

When they inspected the fireplace, they found that it didn't need cleaning, so I was not charged for the service! They were much more reasonably priced than the people I previously used, and did a great job.

I have to thank Angie's List for, once again, finding me an excellent company.

The owner/worker called to see if he could come early, which bothers me because if I schedule a certain time for a service, I want it done then; not 2 hours early.

The day was seriously hot, and our dryer vent has the exhaust pipe come up through our attic. Mr. Koenig mentioned that he'd normally go onto the roof to check for lint build up, but he didn't bring a ladder tall enough to get to the roof. He said this right after telling me he services a lot of the units in our neighborhood (!); so why wouldn't he come prepared? So he removed the pipe from the outlet in the wall of our attic so he could inspect it. He then charged half of his rate, saying that it didn't really need cleaning so he wouldn't charge the whole rate. I should have checked up there before he left because he didn't properly reattach the pipe, and there were gaps left to the outside. I think he did a rush job because he was too hot to stay any longer to do it properly.

During the heavy rain that followed, our attic developed a leak that we discovered because the water came through the air vent in our bedroom. We are so displeased with our experience! You should NOT hire them for any service, especially since this is the example that the owner of the business sets!
