"Norva Electric act quickly when I told them that half of the house didn’t have electricity, He was very understanding, he did trouble shoot the problem with the breaker and a socket and re- wired a outdoor light fixture. I was very please with his work. I t didn’t take long at all. I would definitely be calling Norva again for future work."

"Steve and Russel did an excellent job, They quoted me a time of 2 to 3 hours and $495.00 Another company quoted $1,100 and a full day. Steve was the lead and was amazingly efficient - he is like the superhero The Flash!! He started learning about electrical work at age 14 from his dad who was an electrician. Clearly he learned well. He also asked if I was right or left handed in order to determine the best place for the outlet, If I have any additional electrical repair/service needs I will definitely use this company again"

Small jobs welcome

"I was very pleased with this contractor. Ian quoted a fair price for the work I needed to be done, adding several interior and exterior electrical outlets. He started doing the work within a few days. He worked neatly and efficiently. His work is very professional. I highly recommend this contractor and would use him again if the need arises. Job well done, Ian."

"Prior to purchasing this deal from Angie's, I called the company to see if they could do what I wanted them to do in the two hour time frame.  John was willing and able to come to my house that day and gave my home a visual to say what would be included and if I wanted add'l items, what the expense would be.  Specifically, I wanted one 42" tv mounted on a wall in my bedroom.  I already had the mounting bracket.  I have Direct TV in the house so he offered to run the wires for Direct TV in the attic and through the walls.  He said he worked at Direct Tv previously and they would run the wires on the outside of my home.  I didn't want that so I agreed to have him run the wires in the attic and snake them down the walls and install a cable outlet.  It all sounded great so I purchased the deal.  On the day of installation, there were two of them on arrival.  They came in.  One started putting the TV wall mount together and the other went to work in the attic running the new wires.  It took about two to two and a half hours and all was done.  They charged me $60 in addition to  the Angie's price of $79 for running the cables through the wall and installation of cable outlet.  I thought that was reasonable.  Overall the experience was a very good one.  They were friendly, professional. Didn't take breaks to go outside and smoke.  Even helped me level another tv I have in my living room.  Very nice and I'd recommend them highly as well as use them again.

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Completing electrical projects in Suffolk enhances comfort and safety by supporting efficient air conditioning during humid summers and providing surge protection during storms. Upgrades allow for outdoor living spaces and smart home features, while energy-efficient improvements help lower utility bills. Proactively updating your electrical system also reduces the risk of outages, making your home more reliable and tailored to your lifestyle.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Suffolk, select materials that withstand humidity and salt air. Outdoors, opt for corrosion-resistant wire types, such as THWN-2 or XHHW-2, along with stainless steel or aluminum conduit and marine-grade boxes. Use weather-resistant GFCI outlets and silicone-based sealants. Indoors, prioritize copper wiring, arc-fault circuit interrupters, and whole-house surge protectors to handle frequent storms.

Helpful?

Begin by securing the necessary permits, as most electrical projects in Suffolk require approval. Follow all local electrical codes, ensuring GFCI and AFCI protection where needed. Plan your project timeline to allow for design, permitting, and material procurement. Coordinate with utilities for service upgrades, obtain any required HOA approvals, and always call 811 before digging to prevent utility line damage.

Helpful?

Electrical projects in Suffolk may need to be redone if you notice corrosion on outdoor fixtures, rusted panels, or water damage in boxes—common with the area’s humidity. Frequent breaker trips, flickering lights, or warm outlets are warning signs. Outdated wiring, missing GFCI or AFCI protection, or panels over 25 years old also indicate it’s time for a professional electrical evaluation.

Helpful?

Suffolk’s humid subtropical climate—with hot summers, high humidity, and coastal salt air—can accelerate corrosion on electrical systems, especially outdoors. Seasonal storms and hurricanes often cause outages and damage, making it essential to use weather-resistant materials and plan installations around drier months. Proactively sealing connections and scheduling regular inspections can help ensure electrical projects in Suffolk remain safe and reliable year-round.
