"DB's Plumbing was amazing at delivering exceptional service! From setting up the appointment to service delivery they are exceptional. Jennifer was able to schedule same day delivery to address the water leak issue. She was exceptionally kind and professional! The technician assigned was Ronnie S, he was prompt, efficient and very knowledgeable! He investigated the cause of leaks and addressed relevant plumbing/pipe issues. He was extremely courteous and professional! I would highly recommend DB's Plumbing and their team!"

"Nick was very professional and polite. He explained how the water filtration system works, analyzed water samples, and provided us with an estimate for replacement of the current water filtration system with a new one that included a water softener. The price quoted seemed reasonable, but we decided that we could not afford it at this time. Nick also discounted the $75 trip fee, which we really appreciated."

"I was very impressed with the customer service I received from Appleton Campbell.  The technician that was sent to my house (Michael) arrived on time and spent a lot of time with me going over the various options for my 80 gallon electric water heater replacement.  Michael also took the time to test my well water for me (At no charge) and brought it to my attention that my water was very acidic and that my neutralizer tank was not working properly.  I plan to call Michael back in the next few weeks to have them service my neutralizer tank.
Unfortunately as of April 2015 they are no longer making 80 Gallon water heaters so I was  unable to use this company for the installation.  Michael did provide me with other alternatives to an 80 Gallon tank but the new Hybrid systems are out of my budget and a 50 gallon water heater will not cut it for the size of my house.
Michael and Appleton Campbell have been added to "My Favorites" on Angie's List and plan on using them in the future for other services/projects.
Make sure to request Michael as your Tech!

"Pros: did a kitchen faucet replacement and valve replacement. work was great and well done. Technician very friendly and professional. Cost a little high but not outside range that AI says it would be. Cons: scheduling/dispatch - missed the window on day 1 and didn't say anything. I reached out and found they were behind for the day. Moved to next day. They were right on time at the top of the window"

"This company went above and beyond working to get us water without digging a new well as other companies suggested. I will hire for any and all plumbing I may have in the future because I know they will do the job right and not walk away until completed."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Selecting the right system depends on testing your water to understand the contaminants present and considering your household's water usage and specific needs, such as removing specific contaminants.

Water softeners have many benefits. The most important one is converting previously hard water—water with too many minerals—to more usable, easier water. When we say easier water, we mean water that’s easier to digest, less harsh on skin and clothes, and builds up less in the water system. Softer water may lead to lower energy costs and will extend the lifespan of all appliances that use water.

Because it’s been through the water cycle, evaporating and becoming slightly acidic thanks to dissolved carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, rainwater tends to be naturally soft compared to groundwater, which has just been in contact with limestone. However, the natural hardness level of water always depends on where you are and other factors.

Yes. To get soft water, you can install a water softening system, which will replace the calcium and magnesium ions in the water with sodium or potassium ions. Water softeners cost anywhere from $200 to $6,000, depending on the size and complexity of the system. You can either install a water softener for the whole house or just at your shower heads. If you’re sensitive to sodium or potassium, you can install a salt-free water conditioner.

You can use a commercial water repellent treatment for glass on your shower doors to prevent water spots. Take care to only apply the product to glass. Letting air circulate also helps prevent water spots, as water is less likely to remain on the glass for a long time with good air circulation. Run your vent fan, open a window, and leave the shower door open for about half an hour after using the shower.
