"Karla had to work so I (Derrick) met with Todd, the owner. Todd had no problem finding what was wrong and went straight to it. Todd is the type person you could get along with even if he wasn't working on your HVAC. He was able to get the heat working in a short period of time, explained what was wrong, and discovered a potential problem that could lead to a costly repair. I do mechanical work, but not HVAC. I advised I could do the work that was needed to prevent the potential problem and he offered resources to accomplish the repair. Todd strikes me as a pretty good guy. We must have talked for 20 minutes after the job was accomplished. I recommend Spencer Mechanical."

"They've been servicing our equipment for the last 8 or 10 years. They're fine, they're not cheap, they're no the greatest thing ever going. We go on an annual contract, we got two units. We use them begrudgingly. We know their management and it's very responsive. They're familiar with us and our units. They're fine, they're good. Richmond has two or three good HVAC people, these are one of them."

You may never need an AC recharge if there are no leaks. However, if your AC unit has a leak that cannot be patched appropriately, you’ll need an AC recharge every time the freon level drops low enough that it disrupts your system—this could be once every two to three years. Assuming the size of your AC is appropriate for the space you’re trying to cool, it shouldn’t be a problem for it to work this many hours.

If your AC suddenly stops working, the first thing to check is your thermostat settings. Ensure the thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature and mode (cooling). Sometimes, a simple adjustment or replacing the batteries in the thermostat can resolve the issue. If that’s not the issue, look to see if the circuit breaker tripped. These basic checks can often identify simple fixes before you need to call for professional assistance.
