"Due to strong winds, a piece of siding near the roof had come loose. This company came out the same day we put in a request for an estimate. The repair was done quickly. Mr Shim also spent time with us discussing replacing all the siding on the house. He listened carefully and offered great suggestions. He Beas very easy to work with."

Small jobs welcome

"Eddy did a great job repairing the siding on our house after the recent wind storm. His prices were very reasonable and he showed up on time to give me a quote and fast in getting the siding repaired within the next two days after the quote was given. The only negative small item not taken care of was he told me he'd put a little silicone caulking on a small tear in the siding but it never got done. Not a big deal as I was able to do it easily myself."

"Again as above Mike is extremely knowledgeable re siding and is an insurance adjuster. He was familiar with my house issue, warped siding caused by heat reflecting from neighbor's window. He was really helpful in giving pros and cons re repair when selling! I highly recommend Mike for siding issues"

Siding questions, answered by experts

New siding improves curb appeal, insulation, and protection from moisture and pests.

Yes, you can install siding over stucco, but it's crucial to ensure the stucco is in good condition first. Before proceeding, inspect the stucco for any signs of damage, leaks, or mold growth. If you discover water damage, mold, or have ongoing leak issues, it's recommended to remove the stucco completely. This step prevents future problems like mold and pest infestations and allows a professional to repair or replace any damaged sheathing underneath. If the stucco is sound, the installation process involves attaching furring strips to the wall's framing directly through the stucco. The new siding is then installed onto these furring strips. A professional may also need to adjust window and door openings to prevent them from being recessed behind the new siding, which can cause aesthetic issues and create potential leak points.

The lifespan of siding ranges from 20 to over 100 years, depending heavily on the material, climate, quality of installation, and maintenance.

  • Vinyl, Wood, and Aluminum: Typically last 20 to 40 years. Engineered wood may need replacement after just 20 years.

  • Fiber Cement: Lasts around 50 years.

  • Brick and Stone: These are the most durable, lasting for a century or more with proper care.

The longevity of any siding can be shortened if it's not properly maintained or if damage is not repaired promptly. Regular cleaning is vital. It's time for a replacement when you see widespread damage, signs of water intrusion, or a spike in energy costs.

DIY is possible, but professional installation ensures weatherproofing, insulation, and proper fastening.

On it own, aluminum siding has a relatively low insulation value (also called R-value); aluminum siding has an R-value of 0.61. However, you can purchase insulated aluminum siding to increase the R-value to between 2 and 5. You can also install additional insulation within your walls to help maintain temperatures within your home. On average, insulation costs $1,825 to install throughout the typical home.
