"Due to strong winds, a piece of siding near the roof had come loose. This company came out the same day we put in a request for an estimate. The repair was done quickly. Mr Shim also spent time with us discussing replacing all the siding on the house. He listened carefully and offered great suggestions. He Beas very easy to work with."

Small jobs welcome

"Eddy did a great job repairing the siding on our house after the recent wind storm. His prices were very reasonable and he showed up on time to give me a quote and fast in getting the siding repaired within the next two days after the quote was given. The only negative small item not taken care of was he told me he'd put a little silicone caulking on a small tear in the siding but it never got done. Not a big deal as I was able to do it easily myself."

"Very professional from start to finish. My Hardi plank siding had cracks and broken pieces missing. I had to replace that side of my house. Home Genuis did an excellent job replacing my siding. They started on time and finished on time and effectively communicated each step. The Project manager AJ was superb."

"Again as above Mike is extremely knowledgeable re siding and is an insurance adjuster. He was familiar with my house issue, warped siding caused by heat reflecting from neighbor's window. He was really helpful in giving pros and cons re repair when selling! I highly recommend Mike for siding issues"

Siding questions, answered by experts

For the materials alone, a square of siding costs an average of $600, but prices can range from $100 to $3,000, depending on the material. Vinyl siding costs toward the lower end of that range, while real brick or stone siding costs closer to the higher end. Keep in mind that many boxes of siding contain two squares, enough to cover 200 square feet, so you may need to double your cost if you only need one square.

Yes, the thickness of siding is an important factor to consider when replacing it. Siding thickness helps to determine how your home retains and redirects heat. While thicker siding has a premium price, it offers greater strength and durability, stronger insulation, better wind and weather resistance, increased rigidity, and better soundproofing.

Look and feel for signs of damage after a hail storm. On vinyl siding, there will likely be cracks or holes. If you have steel or aluminum siding, look for dents and cracked or chipped paint. For wood and fiber cement boards, dents are the most common sign of hail damage.

Stucco siding is the most energy-efficient option on its own, but you can choose insulated vinyl, insulated metal, or insulated brick or stone facade siding that improves energy efficiency even further. These options include a layer of foam insulation under the siding to reduce heat transfer between your living space and the exterior. If you live in a particularly sunny climate, a reflective option like insulated steel or aluminum siding can maximize efficiency.

Vinyl log siding is durable, rot-resistant, colorfast, and scratch-resistant, and it can last for an average of around 30 years. Some vinyl siding can last for up to 60 years with proper maintenance. You won’t need to repaint or restain this type of siding every several years like you would with wood, so ongoing costs and upkeep will be minimal. Although it’s relatively low maintenance, you should still wash your vinyl log siding twice per year. Doing so will increase its longevity, remove any mold, and retain your home’s curb appeal.
