"Keith Roofing fixed our roof about 3 years ago. We noticed a recent issue and asked them to come out to see if they could find an issue with the roofing. The staff arrived at the designated time, diagnosed and fixed the problem, and was done in less than 30 minutes! The staff explained the issue and why it may have occurred and how they resolved it and even fixed something on our gutter that he noticed. Amazing service and would definitely recommend this company for any roofing needs!"

"We checked with 3 other roofing companies.

We went with one in between.

Roofing & More was the highest and the most high pressure.

We could have lived without the 1.5 hour presentation.

After we said we needed to think about it,

we felt even more pressure.

Also, if you do use them,

they will come down in price.

We felt like we were at a car dealer.

Talk about talking to a manger.

BTW: We no longer deal with car dealers directly.

I am sure they do good work, but TOO MUCH PRESSURE!!

Glad this is finished.

"We received a drive-by visit in early September from Presidential Exteriors canvassing the neighborhood and while we knew we were living on borrowed time, with our roof last replaced before 1991, we don't do business with companies we don't know and trust. In this case I said no thank you, and the canvasser made a last comment that struck a chord, to look them up online. After checking their references, even though a fairly new company, they had very positive feedback in Angie's List. I then called and made an appointment and my wife and I were impressed with the salesperson, Ben (we've never had someone climb around the unfinished attic in completing their assessment) for his knowledge, genuineness, detail, and approach, and we signed a contract to renovate our roofing with architectural tiles and to install wider gutters (all in preparation for global warming). Over two days, the crew of two performed an amazing job at removing multiple layers of very old shingles (resulting in less full shingles being removed, and mostly partially torn pieces) and the care and cleanup left the full area around the house and bushes almost clean. Understandably, with any re-roofing I cannot imagine you wouldn't have some small amount of cleanup and a few full handfuls of nails and staples over the following months. In our case, in the subsequent week we have found over 60 nails so far using our own magnetic broom (purchased at Home Depot). The third day found the crew finishing the roofing and the other contractors arriving to remove and install the new gutters. So far, the new roof and rain gutters look great and we're cautiously awaiting the approaching storm season."

"We interviewed four roofing companies with experience with commercial roofing to do a variety of repairs on our church roofs which include slate, EPDM and asphalt shingles and also repairs to our copper gutters that were leaking. Brian Laverty with Cenvar Roofing was one of the more detailed roofers with his proposal and he responded very quickly. He was always available for our questions and patient with us as we gained understanding of the magnitude of our job. We hired Brian because of his price but also because of our comfort level with him and the reviews from previous customers who had similar needs as our needs. After the work was scheduled, the crew from Cenvar arrived at the promised time and they worked diligently as a team to correct the issues we had with our current roofs per their proposal. Cenvar honored their estimate for repairs although they encountered unexpected issues which was not surprising for a structure that is 100 years old. I have recommended and will continue to recommend Brian Laverty and Cenvar when given the opportunity for residential and commercial work because of their high quality of work, their high level work ethic, their desire to do their work with "excellence",their high level of professionalism and their excellent follow-up."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Clay tile roofing is common for traditional villas, while flat roofs are more standard for modern villa homes. Clay tile roofs are long-lasting, require little maintenance, and are great for warmer climates. Flat roofs are usually low-cost, energy-efficient, and allow for rooftop gardens.

Copper roof strips offer better coverage and more damage protection than zinc roof strips. Although both deter moss and algae growth, copper also offers UV protection. Zinc strips require more strips than copper to cover the roof’s surface area, which means more holes in your roof. Copper strips are also more flexible and last longer than zinc strips.

The average cost to winterize a house is about $250, but it can range from $65 to $1,000 depending on the type of work that needs to be done. For homeowners that are experienced DIYers, it can save quite a bit on costs. However, you shouldn’t attempt tasks you aren’t familiar with or are potentially dangerous.

The least suitable roof for solar panels is a wood shake roof. An electrical mishap with your solar panels could start a fire on the roof, so some areas don’t allow solar panels on wood roofs. You don’t have to let a wood roof stop you from going solar. You can replace your wood shakes with shingles. Installing the panels on the ground is another option.

Sometimes. Professionals may be able to remove the old roof and re-attach it when completed, depending on your blueprints. That can help you save money. But this method is not without its risks. Larger roofs may crack during the transportation process. And if the roof is old or has problems, it may be better to replace it entirely. Keeping the old roof isn’t always possible if you are making significant alterations to the roofline.
