"Very professional and on time reasonable price. I am concerned as I am not the professional. The work was completed when I went to look it over the spots that were cracked and the reason I called this person to assist me with were still showing some cracks and missing grout spots. He was kind enough to go over the 5 spots I pointed out and the 2 areas were cracked but this is where my concern starts. When I am told the work is done and I look it over and see that it is not done completely, I worry about what I am missing as this should have been seen from the beginning. Maybe I am worrying to much but that gives me a very uneasy feeling. Once time passes and I use the shower a few times with no issue I will update my rating but as of now only time will tell. Nice people just left me wondering if it was all done correctly and to last."

We can summarize our experience in “4 C’s.” Communication: Rich was unfailingly responsive. Email and text messages were his primary media, which suited us well (avoiding phone tag). The terms of the contract were precise and explicit. Once the job began, Rich started each day by telling us what he would be doing. We never felt in the dark about any aspect of the work. Courtesy: Given the expected disruption and inconvenience of this kind of project, the personalities of the people doing the work can make things easier or more difficult. Rich and all of his associates were unfailingly polite and pleasant. This seriously lessened the disruption in our lives while the work was being done. There are a few different tools you can use to score tiles. Manual tile cutters or tile scribes work well for scoring in straight lines. Tile nippers are one of the best options for scoring because they can make small and irregular cuts that larger tools may not be able to handle.
Both porcelain and ceramic have pros and cons. Porcelain tile is generally more durable than ceramic because it is denser and harder. This makes it less likely to chip, but the hardness can make it slightly brittle. As a result, porcelain tiles are more likely to crack if you drop a heavy object. Ceramic is also generally more affordable than porcelain.
Tile shouldn’t be set tight against the tub. Bathtubs can expand when filled, and they can shift slightly with the weight of occupants. For this reason, it’s important to leave a slight gap between the bathtub and the first row of tile. Aim for a narrow gap of approximately 1/16 of an inch, filled with caulk, to allow for this expansion and movement while still allowing for tile shower waterproofing.
No, tiling over painted walls or wallpapered surfaces is generally not recommended. Textured surfaces and paints will affect the adhesive, possibly causing tiles to lift or fall off. Painted walls with a semi-gloss or high-gloss finish are particularly difficult for adding tiles. It’s wise to strip the paint first if you install the tiles to drywall, although it’s still best to opt for a cement backer board.
