"Patriot Flooring did a great job installing the tile. We are really pleased with the tile and how they treated our home while doing the job. They arrived when they said they would, did the work in the time they said they would and cleaned up nicely after they were done. We had attempted to get the work done by two other contractors who agreed to do it, then never showed up. Patriot's promptness and quality of work really impressed us. We would definitely hire them again if we need other work done."

"I recently remodeled my kitchen. In doing so, I had to replace a few pieces of tile. My tile guy used grout that would match if I could get it clean. However, he wasn't sure it would come clean. Marty did an excellent job. My tile looks great. When my tile guy came over to do something else, he was so impressed he asked for a card. He stated that people are always asking him for someone and he had not seen anyone that could do a good job. Thanks Marty."

"Took up old ceramic tile and replaced with new porcelain tile. They did everything well as far as trying to keep the dirt and mess to a minimum by  laying down runners and putting a fan in window to blow out dust, wiping wall down etc. I would say they did a very good job.  Tile looks great."

"I have used Home Advisor frequently and have used a number of suggested pros with success. All American responded to a request for tile/grout work. I was happily surprised to learn that they are not only a class A general contractor but they have a â handyman divisionâ . I just bought an 11 year old house that needed (needs) a lot of work. I hired them for the tile work. I cannot overemphasize the diligence with which they conducted that work and it looks great. They were obsessive that the job be done thoroughly and look good. As a result I hired them to install some ceiling fans and light fixtures. Again, the work was timely and professionally done. Following these jobs, I hired them to paint my massive foyer and upstairs hallway. This was just completed and looks great. I have a list of pending jobs for which I will likely hire them. I would add that I am not a big comparison shopper so my pricing considerations are limited to what I think a job is generally worth and I go with it. But Iâ ve been satisfied with All Americanâ s proposals and have in each instance got more for my money rather than less. Finally, they are very communicative and informative about the work being done and itâ s progress and they follow up upon completion to ensure satisfaction. Workers have been friendly and reliable. A definite recommend."

"Jamie and his team really took my vision for for how I wanted my bathroom to flow and look and brought it to life. It’s been several years since the project was completed and it still looks brand new. I couldn’t be happier with the new layout and tile work."

"The salesman that came over was very nice and knew his job and about the products they use. The payment options are great. It was a quick and easy process to get the ball rolling. The 3 installers were able to get to work 3 days after the salesman was here. They did a great job installing the flooring. They had to remove toilet, disconnect bathroom sink, move washer and dryer, move refrigerator and stove. Every thing was reconnected perfectly and put back in its place. All of this was done in 4 hours. Great job. I would recommend them to anyone."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Yes, your shower pan goes underneath your tiling and helps prevent excess water from seeping into the floor. Without the shower pan under your tile, water will seep through the grout and into the flooring. This will eventually lead to mold growth and serious water damage that could cost thousands of dollars to fix.

Yes, tiling a bathroom is a great way to boost your home's value, especially if you are replacing old or dated flooring. Adding a new tile floor can deliver a return on investment (ROI) of around 56.4%, with some projects offering up to 100% ROI. Buyers appreciate new tile because it provides a modern look and is known for being durable, water-resistant, low-maintenance, and easy to clean. For the best results and highest return, consider hiring a professional, as tiling mistakes can be very noticeable and detract from the value.

Ceramic tile adheres best with premixed adhesive or mortar. If you’re installing the tile in an area with moisture, such as a bathroom or kitchen, opt for waterproof adhesive, and if you choose mortar, make sure it’s thick because that is the easiest to work with and ensures the tiles will sit flat.

No, you don’t technically need a cement backer board for a wall tiling project, but not using it risks disastrous moisture damage. Cement is naturally water-resistant, whereas drywall soaks it in, which can lead to warping or mold growth. Always use a backer board treated with a waterproof membrane for bathrooms and other chronically damp areas to ensure complete tile shower waterproofing.

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.
