The work was completed when I went to look it over the spots that were cracked and the reason I called this person to assist me with were still showing some cracks and missing grout spots. He was kind enough to go over the 5 spots I pointed out and the 2 areas were cracked but this is where my concern starts. When I am told the work is done and I look it over and see that it is not done completely, I worry about what I am missing as this should have been seen from the beginning. Maybe I am worrying to much but that gives me a very uneasy feeling. Once time passes and I use the shower a few times with no issue I will update my rating but as of now only time will tell. Nice people just left me wondering if it was all done correctly and to last."

You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire.
Unfortunately, retiled bathrooms don't always get much mileage. Because the tiles are constantly being walked on, they can wear out more quickly. However, a well-done tile job can last many decades, and with proper care and regular resealing, it can last 10 years or more before needing a retiling.
The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other.
