"Mario came to my home to give an estimate on stripping and restaining a balcony and deck. He said the stain was fine, I should wait a year or two before doing this. He gave me an estimate, very good price, good for at least a year. I also asked for an estimate to paint my laundry/storage room floor. Another company had given me an estimate, but Mario said I should not paint the floor as it will scratch easily and then will begin to peel. Any other contractor would have given me an estimate for both jobs when it was not necessary or even advisable to do the work, at least not at this time. I very much appreciated Mario's honesty. "Everything went better than could ever have been expected. Ray Gibbs himself was on the job to supervise especially in the beginning and in the end but also several times before his crew had finished.  He was involved in all aspects on the job.  His crew was excellent, they always arrived on time and cleaned up afterwards. they were professional and pleasant to work with.  I have no complaints and would highly recommend them.  I could not be happier with the paint job.  We had several highly rated painters from Angie's list give us estimates.  Gibbs painting was at the lower end and was recommended to me by my decorator. I will use them again once I have the energy to continue painting the upstairs.
The piece de resistance however are the built-in shelves. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the unit.  It was designed by my decorator, however the real test was putting the simple picture with minimal direction  into a usable unit  The craftsmanship  is top notch and the unit itself makes a WOW statement. I just need the energy now to fill the shelves with artwork and books. Most importantly, Ray Gibbs was flexible and put up with several changes that I made as we went through this process, graciously. his croup worked up until Christmas Eve and Ray himself came back the day after Christmas to install the TV brackets.

"I was very impressed with Merrifield, and the owner, Jeff.  I received four quotes ranging from 3000 - 4500, and Jeff came down on the lower side.  The painter was professional and punctual - he covered all of our furniture with tarp and left every room clean when he finished the work.  He also stayed late each day (until 6:30) even when arriving at 8:30 to start the job.  The paint looks great and I am very happy with the quality of the work.  Jeff is very accessible over email and phone - it is always great to have direct contact with the owner of the company when you have a question.
However, the thing that impressed me the most was when I got nervous about lead paint (I am pregnant and we live in an old house) because they had to lightly fix the walls where there were cracks.  I called Jeff at 7:00 PM the first night of the job and he reassured me that they are lead paint certified, talked me through the wall repair process, and they would not be disturbing old paint.  He was very professional and courteous about the call.  
Given the price and professionalism, I will definitely use this company in the future and recommend them to friends/family.

"I needed the outside of the house painted and wood to be sanded, along with a few fascia boards that needed to be replaced. Jose's crew showed up everyday on time, was very professional and did a very good job. Whenever I called Jose to ask him a question, he called back immediately. After the work was done, I needed a few things touched up. He set up a date and time with me, and took care of what needed to be done. He has a wonderful crew that could not have been nicer. I am very happy with the work that he did."

"Had them come to do some interior painting for our home. Did get an estimate from another company and Pint the DMV was less by a significant margin. Unfortunately the week of our appointment there was heavy rain in the area which caused our project start date to move back 3 days however Steve let me know early in the week and I was able to accomodate without any issues. On the day of the project, they arrived on time. Their prepwork was perfect, no extra pain on the carpet or trim. We had them paint 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living, and family room (walls only) before we moved into a new home. End results looked great! They were even able to patch up a hole in the wall were the previous owners and run cables through. All in all, the wife and I were extremely happy with the end result. I anticipate calling them in spring for some more work (likely exterior/deck staining) and maybe another bedroom. Thank you."

"Very messy painters, seemed like someone who was taken off the street to paint. Paint splatters on floors. Painted deck, do not believe they used the amount of the pre paint solution I had bought and did not do two coats, I bought 2 gallons of deck paint from sherwin williams and they didnt even use one whole gallon, did not paint one of the deck post that was in the ground. Paint didnt even last through one summer, told owner and said he would be back in late spring (2016) to remain the deck, never saw them again."
