"Show Plumbing exceeded my expectations beyond measure during the entire process of repairing my leaky kitchen faucet. I experienced first-hand Show Plumbing’s core values of honesty, trustworthiness, reliability and professionalism from 1) the initial phone contact and follow up call with Jessica responding to my Angie’s List request; 2) to my honest conversation with Jason regarding the estimated cost to repair the leaky kitchen faucet; and 3) to the actual superb and quality craftmanship of Preston (the service technician) who repaired my leaky kitchen faucet. Show Plumbing’s communication with me was professional, courteous, consistent, clear and detailed at each step of the repair process (i.e., phone calls to actual onsite service). Preston arrived on time and adhered to the COVID protocols while at my home. Preston was extremely professional. Upon assessing the issues and while onsite, Preston provided me (in writing) three (3) recommended repair options, which allowed me the opportunity to choose the option that fitted my budget. Preston took special care to protect my sink/counter/floors–and he cleaned up during and after the repairs. I am very grateful for Show Plumbing. They are a company that put customer service and customer care first. I would highly recommend Show Plumbing for your plumbing needs."

"I used Warren's Plumbing for a bathtub which would not drain. I was having water up to my calf and needed to call them right away. I had several plumbers try to take care of the problem previously and they did a terrible job each time. The water still would not drain for any length of time. Warren's Plumbing used an electric rooter and finally fixed the problem. I very highly recommend Warren's Plumbing and will using them again in the future!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Expansive clay soils cause significant underground pipe movement, complicating under-slab repairs. The widespread use of concrete slab foundations makes leak detection highly invasive, requiring tunneling. High humidity accelerates corrosion on exposed metal fittings. Additionally, older Tomball homes feature aging cast iron drain lines, while hard water from local utility districts speeds up scale buildup inside your plumbing system.

Helpful?

Choose PVC and CPVC plastic pipes for underground applications, as they resist corrosion in wet, clay-heavy soils. Select flexible PEX tubing for interior supply lines to withstand freeze-thaw events and minor slab shifting. Install brass fittings to prevent corrosion in high-humidity areas. Always insulate supply lines in unconditioned spaces to protect your TX home from severe winter freezes and bursts.

Helpful?

A closed permit with a passed final inspection proves the work meets local standards. A licensed professional will provide documentation of passing pressure or hydrostatic tests. Drain lines will maintain a standard quarter-inch per foot slope to handle soil movement. Correctly completed work in Tomball also includes properly installed and tagged backflow preventers, plus any required utility district sign-offs.

Helpful?

Start by determining your exact jurisdiction to pull the proper permits and verify your Municipal Utility District rules. State law requires you to call 811 before any excavation to prevent dangerous strikes on underground utilities. Check your property's flood zone status to confirm drainage requirements. Schedule your inspections well in advance to avoid frustrating delays during busy seasons in Tomball.

Helpful?

Homeowners consistently underestimate how expansive clay soils affect underground pipes and trench stability. You must also account for strict local permit requirements, even for basic water heater replacements. Additionally, coordinate with your Municipal Utility District before starting any plumbing work. Finally, check your flood zone status, as this dictates drainage rules and backflow prevention needs in TX.
