Home Solutions has been serving Harris County and surrounding areas since 2005. We have 16 years of combined experience in home improvement. There is nothing that we can't do. Call us today!

"We had a horrible experience with Home Solutions. We thought the experience would go well because they came recommended, but it went downhill once the contract was signed. The contract was for repair work after Hurricane Harvey. The contract was to demo drywall throughout the first floor, repaint the walls and ceiling, replace the baseboards, replace the back door, replace water-damaged panels in the garage, and make some minor fixes to the front door and exterior. We were one of the first in our neighborhood to have a contract and begin working. Sadly, we were also the last, too. They had many excuses for why they could not work. The crew was always sick, or going to the doctor, or having to be somewhere else. We told Home Solutions about how much we needed the work completed before mid-October (approximately 5-6 weeks after beginning repair work) because we would be on travel that had been planned years ago. They failed to complete the repair by then, so we were on travel, worried about the house that they were working in. It was a horribly bad, stressful situation that did not need to get to that point if the contractor had done their part. Part of the contract was for the crew to clean up after themselves. They did almost no cleaning up after themselves. It took us weeks to clean up after the mess they made. Some of our tools went missing. This was especially bad because we had borrowed those tools, so I was now buying tools for my friends and paying for the crew to work on my house! Also, as part of the demolishing, they broke some of the tile and removed grout. They only replaced the grout and tile after being reminded multiple times. In addition, the grout they used does not match our grout at all. Since this part of the work was done while we were on travel, we could not see it until it was done. In addition, the job was for multiple coats of paint. They kept insisting that they'd done two coats, then I'd show them where they had obviously missed a spot. They kept insisting that they'd done a new paint job yet never painted over the missing spot until the last day. Some of the work, like the panels in the garage and the front door, we all just walked away from because working with them became so difficult. At the end of the job, they left their ladder at our residence, which we had to store in the garage in addition to many of the other things we were storing because of the hurricane damage. Thankfully we did not pay everything up front, so I knew they had to come back and complete the work."

NO SERVICE CHARGE W/REPAIR! Service Charge-$59 (most brands) NO Hourly Charge...We Have Set Rates. Family owned and operated since 1957. Member of the BBB.

"I had a troubling experience with Strawberry Appliance Repair that I feel compelled to share to prevent others from facing similar issues. After installing a new garbage disposal in my rental property, the dishwasher began displaying a drainage error, and the disposal started leaking. I contacted Strawberry Appliance Repair to address both problems. What Happened: The technician arrived promptly and inspected the appliances. He stated that the new disposal was functioning correctly. He diagnosed the dishwasher with a leaking motor seal and recommended replacement over repair, quoting $1,000 for a new unit installation. The Reality: Skeptical of the high quote, I consulted a plumber who, over a brief phone call, identified the likely issue: the knockout plug in the disposal hadn't been removed—a common oversight that prevents dishwasher drainage. Following his advice, I resolved the problem in five minutes at no cost. Both appliances now work perfectly. Conclusion: This experience suggests either a lack of competence or a deliberate attempt to upsell unnecessary services. The technician's failure to identify a basic installation error and the push for an expensive replacement raise serious concerns about the company's practices. Recommendation: Exercise caution when considering Strawberry Appliance Repair. Seek multiple opinions and ensure thorough diagnostics before agreeing to costly repairs or replacements."

Appliance Repair questions, answered by experts

Refinishing an appliance is often less expensive than buying a new appliance. But if your appliance is heavily dented, refinishing it won’t cover that damage. Also, for old appliances that aren’t in good working order, a coat of paint won’t help. It’s a safer long-term solution to replace old, faulty appliances

You might also consider refinishing your appliances if you want to achieve fun colors. For example, you might not be able to find a cobalt-blue refrigerator for the funky, retro kitchen of your dreams, but refinishing the fridge can help you achieve that aesthetic.

Many people find switching from an electric stove to a gas stove well worth the hassle. After all, gas stoves last up to 15 years, whereas most electric stoves only last up to 13 years. Plus, the sentiment and joy of cooking over a real fire is indeed irreplaceable—and offers more precise temperature controls than electric cooktops. The cost of converting an electric cooktop to a gas stove depends on whether your kitchen already has gas supplies, and the cost can range from $125 to $2,000. Also, make sure your new stove’s dimensions match the old one.

When replacing an old unit, you might want to switch from a gas water heater to an electric water heater or vice versa. To do this, you will likely need to add infrastructure to the area. For example, you likely don’t have a gas line that served your old electric water heater. You’d have to call a plumber to put in a new gas line. If you’re replacing a gas unit with an electric one, the plumber will need to safely cap the old gas line. You will then need an electrician to add wiring for the new electric unit.

If your refrigerator is more than 15 years old, it probably needs to be replaced, and it makes more sense to replace over repair. A new fridge costs $1,000 to $4,000 or more. If you have a newer fridge, it’s worth spending a couple hundred dollars on a repair to make it last several more years. Repairing an older fridge might not yield much in the way of useful life. You can always ask your repair technician if it makes more sense to replace your fridge rather than repair it.

Built-in models often integrate better aesthetically while being safer with overheating controls. Consultancy helps choose the correct type.
