We had a horrible experience with Home Solutions. We thought the experience would go well because they came recommended, but it went downhill once the contract was signed. The contract was for repair work after Hurricane Harvey. The contract was to demo drywall throughout the first floor, repaint the walls and ceiling, replace the baseboards, replace the back door, replace water-damaged panels in the garage, and make some minor fixes to the front door and exterior. We were one of the first in our neighborhood to have a contract and begin working. Sadly, we were also the last, too. They had many excuses for why they could not work. The crew was always sick, or going to the doctor, or having to be somewhere else. We told Home Solutions about how much we needed the work completed before mid-October (approximately 5-6 weeks after beginning repair work) because we would be on travel that had been planned years ago. They failed to complete the repair by then, so we were on travel, worried about the house that they were working in. It was a horribly bad, stressful situation that did not need to get to that point if the contractor had done their part. Part of the contract was for the crew to clean up after themselves. They did almost no cleaning up after themselves. It took us weeks to clean up after the mess they made. Some of our tools went missing. This was especially bad because we had borrowed those tools, so I was now buying tools for my friends and paying for the crew to work on my house! Also, as part of the demolishing, they broke some of the tile and removed grout. They only replaced the grout and tile after being reminded multiple times. In addition, the grout they used does not match our grout at all. Since this part of the work was done while we were on travel, we could not see it until it was done. In addition, the job was for multiple coats of paint. They kept insisting that they'd done two coats, then I'd show them where they had obviously missed a spot. They kept insisting that they'd done a new paint job yet never painted over the missing spot until the last day. Some of the work, like the panels in the garage and the front door, we all just walked away from because working with them became so difficult. At the end of the job, they left their ladder at our residence, which we had to store in the garage in addition to many of the other things we were storing because of the hurricane damage. Thankfully we did not pay everything up front, so I knew they had to come back and complete the work.

They were good. We ended up using them do to work for us but they only issue with them is that the projects never seem to get done on time. The contractor was really nice and really accommodating and you can really see that he goes above and beyond what we ask but I think he progresses things slowly. But ll in all it was good. They came out before Christmas and I think their price was reasonable to high and you definitely get what you pay for.

The subcontractor who did the shower was excellent at his job. We were very happy with the finished product. He was however not on time, ever. He never showed up when we were told he would, some days not at all. We were told they had a large commercial job going on at the same time which took priority over ours. We liked him very much, so we didn't complain. He was not the subcontractor who finished the job or put in the pocket door. That one was very angry that he had to finish a job someone else started and had an attitude the whole time he was there. When we complained, they sent the original subcontractor out to cleanup the job on his day off. The flooring subcontractor was not the greatest, but it was cheap. Our job was a remodel for an elderly parent's home to make it safer and easier for her because she got cancer and was in a wheelchair. We knew it would not need to be perfect, so we were more tolerant than we would have been in other circumstances. We purchased all the tile and some other materials. There was an excess. We were told that they would return it and refund our money. They took the goods and the receipts and we never saw them again. We tried to call, but no one answered and there were no call backs from messages left. Our parent passed away 4 months after the work was done, and we walked away knowing we got screwed, but also knowing we did what we thought was best at the time.

Randy and his crew gave us a very detailed quote that included labor and average for all materials. They were the only one that was willing to lay laminate hard woods elsewhere in the house on top of the bathroom. They are honest and trustworthy to be in your home without you present. They are bonded and insured. Randy is good about calling or emailing with updates or changes after each data work, and we really appreciated that. We ended up buying the tile, tub, and paint for the job, but he supplied the rest. His bid was also lower than the other we received. We will use him again, hopefully on our kitchen!

Fair work for the money paid. This was a large project, and we went with the second lowest bid to get the work done. Randy and his guys did an alright job, but not without some re-do's and some oversight to keep things going smooth. Tiles are a little crooked here and there. Worth what was paid, pretty much average to just below average.

It went pretty good; we have used them for a number of small things that we have done. They have worked out fine and are pretty responsive people. They get the job done and do good work. Every now and then we have to push them a little bit to get done on time but, other than that, they do a very nice job for us. A couple of months they did a little job on a pipe that developed a leak so they came right out and fixed that once we discovered the problem. Even when they have to come back out to fix something they do a real nice job of getting it done. Their prices are very reasonable.

In a word - FANTASTIC to this point.  Work is still being completed, but i have enjoyed the interaction with all of the employees and workers Randy has sent to our house.  They have been very concientious from frost contact through the bid and now as the work is beginning.  They have offered very good advice and there have been no hidden charges or extra costs with each change that we have made or unexpected problems.  Turns out a gas hook-up in the kitchen HAD NOT been installed byt he original builder as we hd been told.  No probelm for Randy and team as they determined how to fix the issue and install the kitchen we orginally wanted.
I can't say enough positive about them and have recommended them to my mother-n-law as well and they are going to bid kitchen work for her as well.  I highly recommend them as a company you can trust.

I had completed all the demo of my master bath .Selected and purchased the tile. I then experienced a torn rotator cuff and could;nt complete the job. Gary looked at the job and scheduled around my job and it was all done in 4 days.

Overall, I was very pleased with Home Solutions. They were the first to respond to my request for a quote and Randy Covington was very professional.  The painters were a little messy, but Randy addressed all of my concerns. I believe he gave me a great deal and I felt secure in his ability to complete the job in a satisfactory manner and he did. He gave me a quote of $3,500.00 for labor and gave me a detailed invoice with copies of all the additional material he needed to buy. We had already bought the laminate and most of the paint. He finished the job in about a week. He framed my bathroom mirrors that had a little black at the bottom at his own expense even when he had to replace one mirror twice because of accidental breakage. I would definitely use him again.

I had used this contractor before and had a few issues but was willing to give them a second chance. Did an even worse job and I had to pay a second contractor to come behind and finish what was done sloppily and or not at all.

"Wow, I did a walk thru with the customer and everything on bid was done and checked off. Customer said nothing to me about being unhappy with the quality or unfinished items and paid in full."

The first day (8/24/11) men came in to do the tear down. They removed the old walls behind the tub and removed the cast iron bathtub, but could not move it out of the bathroom.  The second day the bathtub was disassembled and taken out, and the plumbing was assessed. It was discovered that there was a leak behind the toilet so that wall and the floor would have to be replaced.  The following day those repairs were started.  The job was supposed to have been finished by the following Monday because we were bringing our mother home from a nursing facility that day and this was her bathroom.  The subcontractor who was doing the work became ill over the weekend and they were unable to finish by Monday. Another subcontractor was brought in to re-install the toilet so she could use her bathroom in the interim.  Frankly, he was not the quality contractor as the first man, so we didn't mind waiting until the first man was able to return.  When he did, he completed the project to our satisfaction ( 9/8/11).  We appreciated that there were extenuating circumstances during our project which caused it to take quite a bit longer to complete than was originally was scheduled.  Everyone we dealt with was friendly, and stayed busy the entire time they were in our home.

We are starting the remodel in 2 weeks.  Randy Covington has so far impressed us with his knowledge, price and congeniality.  I will post further when the remodel is complete.  It is supposed to take 3-5 days depending on the conditions behind the wall where we have had a leak.

It went well with the exception of the cabinet maker who was very poor. His work had to be completed by someone else because of the poor quality of the workmanship. The original cabinet maker was a subcontractor.
