Btw, this was many years ago and I just recently became an AngiesList customer. I tried to file a BBB report at the time but they would not accept it since I had someone else finish the work - LIKE I WANTED KEN TO COME BACK - NO WAY! We have a septic system with black and gray water tanks. Here are the main isses, not all: 1. I caught Ken plumbing the house as black water only. If I had not caught this our black water drain field would have been severely undersized and no telling what that would have cost me to fix. 2. the black water tank has 2 ports. One from the garage, and one for the house. I caught Ken attempting to connect the sewer line from the house into the existing line from the gargage instead of connecting to the other port on the tank (designated for the house). I told told him NOT to break the existing line and tap into it but to use the other port on the tank. After I left and went to work Ken finished the job and when I got home the line was covered up with dirt and he was gone. A couple of years later the sewer line from the house to the tank clogged up so bad I had to call Ken to come out and snake. He never returned my phone calls. So I had to call another plumber. 6 months later same thing. 3 months later same thing. I began to notice a pattern. 6 weeks later same thing. This time I told the plumber we need to video the line. (btw, I had poured a sidewalk over this line about 6 months after we moved into the house). He did and video showed it was all broken up. The plumber had to dig under the sidewalk to expose the line and guess what he found?! Ken tapped into the existing sewer line from the garage (after I told him NOT to do that) and covered it up before I got back from work to check so we wouldn't know. Not only that, but the plumber doing the work was shocked by the sloppy work that was done. He said it looked like the line was put together with "left over fittings from other jobs" and showed it to me before he did any repairs. It looked like a pretzel. On top of that the plumber said most of it was not even glued together. Kens major screw up cost me $1000's. I should have sued him. Beware!!! He was very through in his measurements and diagrams. After selecting A1 Guaranteed Foundation, an independent structural Engineer came to the house to verity their plan. We have zero lot lines in my neighborhood and over half of the work was conducted in my neighbor's yard. The job was completed in 2 days as planned. A total of 22 piers were placed and 2 existing piers were adjusted. Cew chief Lewis and his crew arrived both days on time and started work immediately. On the first day all of the piers were dug and pressing of the concrete cylinders were pressed into place. The chimney was left overnight with multiple hydraulic jacks in place. Next day Jeff returned to personally supervise the lifting of the foundation. He directed each stroke of the jacks to uniformly lift until it met target. After the lift was completed and shims were in place, all of the crew left except 3 men. They remained to fill each hole, tamped the dirt and concreted the garage and sidewalk holes. They removed all of the extra dirt into their trailer. Job completed by 4:30 pm. All clean and the soil was leveled. My neighbor and I were pleased. Three weeks later the engineer returned and conducted measurements and inspected the work completed. The Engineering company issued the Engineering Report. To finalize the project a plumbing company conducted a plumbing test to determine if there was water or sewer pipe leaks. His report completed the warranty requirement from A1-Guarantee foundation. Over all very pleased with their work. I would bring the matter up. Then recently I had problem with them shooting the grass into the pool, even though I brought it up, they did it again. The crew supervisor claims there was no grass in the pool. My pool guy said there was tons in the skimmer and if it kept up it would ruin my pool motor. The bushes, a bush on the side of my house died, in between two other bushes. It had been healthy, maybe some scale, but was treated for scale and basically fine...nothing different than the last six years I've lived at this house or the bushes to the side of it. Never had that problem before. My father had seen a guy spray something (he was sitting on he other side of the window and watched it take place) and after the spray the bush died. We think someone had sprayed a weed killer as it had a fern growing out from under it, and maybe they were trying to kill it? I don't know, but it had been healthy and then it died completely, all over died quickly. A bush in my backyard is currently has areas of the same dark brown, close to the ground which makes me think they sprayed weed killer in that general area and hit the bush by accident. Needless to say, the bush area is dying. My expensive children's wood playset, they weed whacked the heck out of the legs of the set, I mean deep gauges and it was recently purchased, now it's ruined. A strip of sod in the front yard of my house. A strip of sod was dead between my driveway and the ring of the tree circle. It's a straight line of dead grass. The supervisor of the crew pulled it out. He tells me it's grubs that killed it. I find that hard to believe that grubs will eat in a straight line. It appeared as if the crew spilled either gas from their weed eater or spilled weed killer when they were killing the weeds in the circle around the tree. A straight line? Do grubs eat in a straight line? The front yard sewer cap was broken, had black tire tread on side of it. Nothing else has been in my yard except lawn mower. I talked with the crew supervisor on several occasions. When discussed, acted like he would take care of the situations. It continued. Finally the owner came out, along with the crew supervisor. Owner was condescending to me, crew supervisor was circling around words, and I could not believe that as a customer I was being treated this way. Conversation went on for half hour, nothing resolved. Basically they felt the complaints were just, but that there was really nothing they could do and never took ownership for anything that happened on my property. Nothing had been done to rectify the damages already done. I had to let them go. All Drains leak detection was 50% less than a competitor and the repair was done reasonably priced and very professionally. I would definitely call on them again for any plumbing needs.

FAQs for sewer line repair projects in Georgetown, TX
The average cost to snake your main sewer line is around $250 for a simple snake. Most sewer line specialists charge between $45 and $200 per hour for main sewer line snaking, so the time involved plays a major role. The price you’ll pay will depend on the severity of the clog, the item causing the backup, how long it takes to remove the item, and more. A more severe issue that requires unclogging a main sewer line will cost $3,100 on average.
Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
You should not attempt to snake your sewer yourself. Accessing and snaking your sewer requires heavy-duty equipment, and while renting is possible, misusing it can damage your sewer main and leave you with very expensive repair costs, not to mention potential environmental issues and severe water damage. Accessing your sewer also exposes you to hazardous sewer gasses, and failing to seal the sewer properly after work can be very dangerous. It’s always best to hire a professional sewer cleaner near you to handle this type of work.
The average cost to unclog a drain is around $200, with prices ranging between $110 and $800, depending on the type of drain and the extent of the clog. Hiring a professional to snake the toilet or sink will usually cost between $110 and $275, a bathtub or shower typically costs around $225, and a main line clog can cost between $100 and $800 based on the severity of the clog and how far beyond the access point the clog sits. Since the labor involved varies, most plumbers will charge an hourly rate for drain cleaning.
The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350.
