I worked closely with him on the schedule, my cabinets were 8 weeks out and I would like to be without a kitchen for the least amount of time possible. I asked if they could fabricate the granite in two days so I could have the cabinets installed on Monday and be done by Friday. Since I was able to get on the calendar so far out, they were very willing to work with me on my schedule they pushed other jobs around to ensure they could hit my dates. Sheri in the office was very easy to work with and called me back quickly. We had some last minute schedule changes (due to the cabinets, not the granite) and they were very flexible to help ensure that I had the least downtime possible. We also had a few hiccups along the way. The granite yard delivered the wrong slabs of granite to Prado?s shop. When we arrived to check out the colors against out cabinet door samples they were the wrong slabs. Sheri was very helpful and got the Granite yard to fix the error and in no time we were good to go. I stayed very impressed with Joe Prado throughout the job. I spoke with him on the phone several times with question regarding what type of sink I should buy, and various other questions. He was always available and very helpful. His advice was extremely practical and I found it to be very valuable. It?s clear that he has been doing this for many years and knows his stuff. Prado?s did several things that other contractors would have either charged extra for or didn't offer at all. One example was rebore embedded in the slab were there were some chance of breaking, like around the sink which is much more narrow than the rest of the counter tops. This was done several places in my kitchen due to a fancy thin bar top that we have. Also Anthony did a great job matching the seams, he actually mixed up several different colors like an artist?s pallet and blended the seams where you can?t see them at all. These guys are true artists. I also liked that they were so practical, talking about how long to cut the counter top overhang so when liquid falls off the counter it doesn't hit the cabinets and stain them and how big to cut the sink hole so that food falls in the sink and not in the rim of the sink. Logistically, they were there when they said they would be, cleaned up when the left and were very good in my house. I was very happy with the job they did, the price, the quality of the work, and experienced nature of the employees? that Joe Prado hires. I would recommend them to anyone and I will use them again for my bathrooms shortly. We were still thinking through our options and had met with several people on the cabinets. He helped us with several decisions such as what style of wood, traditional or frameless, door styles, etc. I found his advice very practical and straight forward. He wasn’t trying to sell us anything and he was able to stay very objective as he has seen many kitchens. My wife was uncertain at first, she wanted to go with a big box store as she felt it was more predictable. However, Phil had such a great way about him. I felt that I could trust that he would do what he said he could do. So we gave him the work.
He was very clear on the timing of the job. He was running about 8 weeks out and had just hired more people to help him. He gave us some updates along the way as we were waiting for our turn to come up. The payment plan was discussed up front and I knew when I needed to pay for what. The contract was concise and direct and I appreciated its brevity. Along the way he came out and brought us a sample door in our style and color so that we could go to the granite yard and double check it against the granite we had picked out. I was very thankful for this. It helped is ensure that we got all the colors right. Phil clearly communicated any changes to the schedule, there needed to be a few based on his workload. When install day came I was impressed with the quality of the work. They were all shrink wrapped and protected against the ride over and made it here perfectly without any scratches or dings.
Before I talk more about the install, a little about me. I am an amateur woodworker. I have built several sets of cabinets before for other people and other parts of my house. I know how I like it done and I am very picky about things in my house. I have a strong sense of attention to detail and I won’t let anything go that’s not up to snuff. Now for the install. The install started on a Tuesday and progressed well according to plan. I needed the granite guys to come out on Wednesday at noon to measure for the granite fabrication. Phil was very confident the whole that that we would make that time and he did. There were a few issues with the install however when I pointed them out to Phil and his helper Ray they were extremely accommodating. I never got any attitude or push back, they wanted it to be as perfect as I did. Phil even proactively mentioned a problem: “I want to tell you about this problem before you tell me about it, I found it, I will fix it”. I was super impressed. I love that they are clearly concerned about their work. They stand by it as if it was their reputation on the line. I have worked with several contractors who don’t care and were just trying to finish as fast as possible and move on to the next thing. I felt that Phil really wanted it to be right, not just to complete the job. It was not rushed and I was very happy with the end result.
In short, I would recommend Hendricks Quality Craftsmanship to my neighbors, my coworkers and my family. I thought they did a great job on the build and installation of new cabinets. Additionally when there were issues (and there always are when dealing with a project this large) they dealt with them professionally and thoroughly to so that I was completely satisfied with the end result."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/san-antonio/hendrick-quality-craftsmanship-reviews-7374906.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Blinded by Delight","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Michael W."},"reviewBody":"I had some issues with a very strong afternoon sun coming in my kitchen and was expecting company within a few weeks. They required this deposit, before coming to the site to template or discuss the project. They had drawings and photos to help them come up with the contract. Then came onsite on December We, in my opinion, hit a wall as to what was promised and what he was ultimately intending to do and I've requested they simply return the deposit (less some fee for cad drawings he did) and I will move on. He ignores and then refuses. His contract refers to a cancellation policy on their website that you can read. It gives you 3 days to get back 50% of contract price (the deposit amount was 50% of the contract price). But, he wasn't here onsite to template and discuss until more than 3 days after deposit was made, making it impossible to recover deposit if you were unhappy with planned tops after site visit. So, about one month after his visit, he told me he couldn't make top as planned. It would have to have a seam, be shorter than length of top or I'd have to move a tall cabinet with ovens in it out of the way for him. Or, I could pay even more money, and he would weld onsite to see no seam. None of those things were acceptable to me and I told him to return the deposit, he has refused as I said. We had our attorney contact him and he still refused. "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/austin/handcrafted-metal-reviews-8010447.htm"},"position":10}]}
Cabinet Making reviews from real Angi homeowners in Falls City, TX
Hector and his team came out to paint the interior of my home and the cabinets. They were very good, fast and knowledgeable about what they did. I would highly recommend them and I plan on using them again in the future.
David Martinez Painting was extremely easy to work with and they handled our request for additional work without argument. Our job entailed removing old varnish and stain from cabinets then applying new stain and varnish plus repairing some drywall flaws and then painting walls and ceilings...
I had several contractors from Angie?s list come out and give me estimates for a new kitchen counter top installation. I had many good bids but I felt the best about Joe Prado. He had a way about him that I found trustworthy. That was the most important thing to me. His price was reasonable...

"I do not like to leave negative reviews, but I feel a responsibility to do so for future clients. We thought this experience would be great, the sales person RJ was very responsive especially in the beginning. Things started taking a turn for the worse when the painters took 2 1/2 months to complete a job that should have taken 2 to 3 weeks at most. They did not use any protective covers and either left paint all over our new floors, new tile, and furniture or ruined things such as our new electrical wires that they coated with drywall. They also left holes and huge seams in our brand new ceiling along with gaps in the drywall, among so many other things. Our completion date was October, then November, then December, then January and we finally just had to move into the unfinished home. Some of the contractors did a great job and the others we obviously not trained to do the job they were hired for. Unfortunately, we had paid everything up front except a small amount for an add on service. They did not care that we were not happy all they wanted was the money due. They came out and did finally hire someone competent to fix our ceiling and the holes in our wall but then they sent out the same team that made the mistakes to "fix" some other items and it was just terrible work. My husband and I are not people who typically complain about things but we spent close to $100,000 and we were really disappointed that the work was done poorly and we were dealt with so poorly. Honestly there is so much more I could list but I am so exhausted by all of this and I just want to be done with it. I hope this keeps someone else from going through the same thing."

FAQs for cabinet making projects in Falls City, TX
Custom cabinets are worth the investment to transform the look of your kitchen with a design, color scheme, and aesthetic that’s unique to your home. If you’re looking for cabinets that reflect your personality but are more cost-effective, semi-custom cabinets are a great alternative that allows you to showcase your style, but with pre-made cabinets instead of fully custom. Custom cabinets also provide a 70 to 80 percent return on investment, making them a worthwhile purchase.
There are a few key differences between custom and semi-custom cabinets. While custom cabinets offer complete customization, semi-custom cabinets are less personalized, offering fewer paint color, finish, and hardware choices. In addition, custom cabinets typically take longer to install due to the build time, whereas semi-custom cabinets are prefabricated and therefore faster to install.
If you're looking for ways to save money on custom cabinets, there are a few ways to cut costs without sacrificing beauty. For starters, comparing door styles to choose the most cost-effective option is a great way to save money on the overall project.
In addition, choosing a common wood species versus an exotic one will lower the price. Woods like oak and hickory are often more affordable wood choices, and the same goes for knobs, pulls, and other finishes where picking a commonly available style can reduce costs.
Custom cabinets cost between $500 and $1,200 per linear foot on average to install. Factors like materials, size, and type of cabinet doors you choose significantly affect the overall cost.
For example, a basic slab cabinet door can cost $60 to $70 for materials alone. As its name suggests, this material is a piece of wood with no unique features. However, a mullioned glass inset panel door, which features a designed glass panel, ranges from $100 to $200 for materials per cabinet door.
Like most special-order items, custom cabinets have several pros and cons to consider when buying new cabinets. Custom cabinets are typically more expensive than prefabricated cabinet options, but the work often reflects the quality. Custom cabinets tend to last 20 or more years, but the time it takes to install them is typically longer than other cabinets—roughly 6 to 8 weeks on average from the time of ordering. However, a major benefit is the ability to personalize every aspect of your cabinetry, from cabinet hardware to custom paint colors.
