"They leveled our sagging floors beautifully and installed a drain system with a sump pump to address basement flooding issues. All was done with punctuality, precision, and professionalism. Additionally, the price was very reasonable especially compared to competitors. Highly recommend."

"I've worked with Donnie on several properties to evaluate structural issues, he's always been very professional and thorough with his inspections and identification of structural issues. Recently I had him perform a structural repair on one of my properties that had a tight deadline due to insurance and he got it done without an issue. I would recommend Donnie and Upstate Structural Repair for any structural repairs or consultation!"

"Ethical plumbing did a fantastic job on the customer service side and the repair side. Alisha, the rep who contacted me on a Friday evening almost immediately after starting my search was pleasant and efficient. She made it possible for me to get service the next day. Michael showed up as scheduled Saturday morning for what I thought was just going to be an estimate but to my surprise was able to complete the job that day! And this wasnâ t an easy undertaking. It Involved digging, cutting lines, valve replacement for a leak behind the city meter. These guys are the real deal! I thought the price was a bit higher than I thought it may be, but the value received made me comfortable with it. Same day service, done professionally. I wholeheartedly recommend Ethical plumbing. Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Venting the crawl space can be a good alternative to encapsulation if you live in a dry climate and the moisture problem isn’t severe. You could also try a dehumidifier or install a vapor barrier on the floor, leaving the walls exposed. A new drainage system may eliminate the moisture problem if it is not caused by humidity.

You should take care of any sign of water in your basement, whether it’s dampness after heavy rain or puddles of water on the floor. Besides potentially causing a health hazard, the moisture can damage your home’s structure and foundation. Furthermore, mold can grow quickly and spread throughout the rest of your home. With mold remediation costs ranging between $1,200 and $3,400, it’s best to avoid mold issues by fixing the leak.

It’s not the number of weep holes that should be of concern to builders but rather their spacing. Weep holes are usually spaced anywhere between 16 inches on center when using round tubes or wicking materials and 24 inches on center when using open-head joints. This is a more conservative spacing than the 33-inch maximum spacing on center that’s mentioned in the International Residential Code. All in all, the total number of weep holes a brick exterior should have will depend on the size of the structure.

Plan on cleaning your crawl space at least once a year, though twice a year is ideal. During the cleaning, remove any debris or dust and check for potential issues like pest infestations or water damage. The sooner you catch these issues, the easier (and cheaper) it will be to fix them.

To maintain an outdoor structure, perform regular inspections for damage, leaks, and weak joints. Clean the structure regularly, treat or repaint wood surfaces for weather resistance, and reinforce any weak joints to prevent deterioration and ensure its longevity.
