"The rep suggested several improvements including upgrading to a solar heating system. We are now in the process of installing a solar heating system. With government tax incentives over the next 2 years we will finance $15K. If I just keep paying what I was paying for my monthly power bill towards the solar panels and upgrades the payback is less that 7 years. After which, my electricity is free. System has a 30 year warranty. Looking forward to the installation and will provide feedback once it is installed and in operation."

"Recently moved to SC and needed a RV power outlet installed. I had previously called and received an estimate(s) from another electrician. I had some knowledge of what was needed for the job, so I felt the first estimates for the other company was a bit too high (quotes ranged from $2800-5800). Then I called Pete. He came out, examined what needed to be done and gave an honest estimate. He was professional, polite and most of all HONEST. I hired him to do the work. In a few days (due to holiday) he came back and completed the job. There were some issues that created more work than what was originally thought, but Pete made sure everything was hooked up correctly and working before he left. He never charged for the extra work and only charge his original estimate (which was under what the other company wanted to charge). I would recommend this company and Pete Justice for any electrical needs in the area. He is honest and trustworthy and does a great job! Thank you Just Electric!"

"There are no words! These guys are top notch humans. We needed a whole new service installed after Helene, there were here first thing Tuesday, and went far above their job. I went to work but my daughter and newborn grandson were here. These guys brought her lunch and ran an extension cord and brought in a commercial fan. They didn't stop there, them and my landlord fixed our generator, we couldn't get it going, left the fan for us to use, filled the gas in the generator. I hope they know just how much we appreciate all their kindness. The city came right out an approved their work, we are all set for when Duke shows up."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Electrical upgrades in Pickens can make your home more comfortable by supporting efficient HVAC systems and ceiling fans, crucial for humid summers. Adding GFCI outlets in kitchens and bathrooms enhances safety, while smart thermostats and lighting help manage energy use. Installing extra outlets, USB charging stations, and a backup generator connection ensures your home stays functional and convenient during unexpected power outages.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Pickens are prioritizing upgrades like smart lighting controls, outdoor lighting installation for patios, and energy-efficient LED retrofits. Whole-house generator connections and electrical panel upgrades are increasingly common due to frequent storms. Many also add electric vehicle charging stations and under-cabinet lighting for kitchens. Weather-resistant outlets for outdoor kitchens and enhanced surge protection are popular choices to boost both safety and convenience.

Helpful?

In Pickens, warning signs include persistent flickering lights, frequent breaker trips, or outlets that feel warm to the touch. If your home has outdated knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring, especially in older neighborhoods, it may not meet current safety standards. After heavy rainfall, look for rust or moisture around the electrical panel, which can signal water intrusion and the need for immediate inspection.

Helpful?

Begin by confirming which permits and inspections are needed for your project in Pickens. Schedule electrical work during dry weather to avoid delays and coordinate with your utility provider for any service changes. Choose a licensed local electrician familiar with Pickens codes and ask for references. Keep detailed records of all work, and plan for temporary power interruptions, especially in older homes or during storm season.

Helpful?

Watch for vague or incomplete quotes that lack details about materials or project scope. Be wary if a contractor avoids discussing Pickens permit requirements or doesn’t mention electrical code compliance. Large upfront payments, unclear timelines, or poor communication are also warning signs. Reliable professionals will provide clear contracts, references, and a willingness to coordinate inspections as required for electrical work in Pickens.
