"It went great it was diagnosed quickly -- even had a free estimate on Labor Day! Both problems were fixed quickly with the toilet being replaced and the shower nozzle being fixed Best part was that he was timely , communicative with texts and phone calls and upfront re: pricing. They were even willing to work into the evening and met me after work! I would definitely hire again!"

"Guys were great. Found out water main was broken 4pm after a contractor hit the meter the day before. Called them on (it was Friday) and they took the job and got the main repaired (took a couple hours). I wouldn’t have water this weekend if it wasn’t for them! Did a good job checking their work before leaving as well, which I’m greatful for as the outside temp was around 32F so plumbing adhesives might have had difficulty curing at that temp."

"Logan and Justin were the best. They took out old bathtub and installed walk in shower. Let us know when there was a problem and what they were going to do to fix it. Very polite and left things as they found it."

As much as I remember all items were repaired/fixed within minutes. I was initially given several options of how things could be fixed, one option regarding the toilet being extremely costly, I went with the least expensive, which was still pricey. The repairman was very thorough and professional. I have no problems with his work, However, Ben Franklin is extremely expensive and they always seem to have many solutions, at least one which will be more costly than the others.

Septic Repairs
Holy cow!! We found it!
Almost looks like we didn't just install 400' of 4'' Storm Drainage to save the septic system from near total failure.

Sometimes excessive storm water can wreak havoc on a septic system and cause the system to break down prematurely.
The septic system was drowning, we suggested diverting the storm water to protect the septic tank & field lines. Problem Solved.

"Stephen was great, my tub backed up with water and my toilet would not flush, turns out my septic field needed replacing. Very responsive, reasonably priced and best of all. I didn’t have to leave my home during the repairs. I’d give 10 stars if I could."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Toilet handles can get stuck for a couple of reasons, but it’s commonly an issue with the chain. Remove the lid and check the chain’s connection, running from the flapper to the handle arm. Sometimes the chain gets snagged on or against another part of the tank.

The chain might not have the right tension. For example, a chain that’s too short can make the handle feel stuck. Check that there’s some slack in the chain. Old, worn-out flappers can get stuck, too. In this case, you’ll need to see which size toilet flapper you need.

Toilet augers are hand-held drain snakes. Most of them come with 3 to 6 feet of cleaning cable and a curved, plastic elbow sleeve to protect your toilet bowl. If your clog does not go beyond the toilet’s wax seal, a 3-foot auger would be sufficient. Otherwise, you may need a 6-foot auger to unclog the drain.

You can DIY your toilet flapper replacement if you’re up for a small plumbing project. Turn off the water to the toilet, open the tank lid, remove the chain from the lever, and unhook the flapper. For a new, adjustable flapper, adjust it to the right setting according to your toilet's gallons per flush rating. Hook the flapper in place and install the chain with 1/2 inch of slack.

There are several ways to save money on a bathroom remodel through proper planning and savvy design strategies. To reduce costs, consider the following:

  • Purchase your own materials: Buy your own bathroom fixtures, hardware, and other materials to avoid contractor upcharges and delivery fees.

  • Shop smart for big-ticket items: Save on pricey items like tiles and tubs by shopping sales and at discount stores.

  • Avoid major layout changes: Keep plumbing in its current location. Opt to replace fixtures rather than moving them to avoid significant renovation work.

  • Focus on high-impact, low-cost updates: Make affordable but impactful smaller changes, such as upgrading hardware, installing new lighting, and adding stylish but economical accessories.

  • DIY where possible: Handle easier parts of the remodel yourself, like painting or installing light fixtures, to save on labor costs.

  • Time your remodel strategically: Consider remodeling in the spring, which tends to be a lower-demand time of year and may result in lower costs.

You should replace your toilet at least every 25 years. While toilets are pretty sturdy appliances, they don’t last forever. Even if you aren’t ready to invest in the cost of a bathroom remodel yet, just replacing your toilet will help freshen up your space and keep your bathroom functioning.
