"Mike was able to get everything accomplished very efficiently and well. He arrived within the expected time window. Replaced toilet seat at no charge. Gave us clear estimates on additional work. As always, so very satisfied with Mike and Servant Plumbing. Know that repair people from Servant are experienced and competent. Find cost of installations for all work, not just Servant, is more than we would expect, but that's where skill and experience factor in. Did not get multiple estimates because we have had such a positive experience with their work in the past."

"I HIGHLY recommend PEEPLES PLUMBING & GAS. It is a family-owned business with skilled technicians. Curtis and Bobby came same morning and at exact time they said they would be there!! They resolved my flooding washing machine and overflowing kitchen sinks in 45 min. They were very professional and efficient. I am very confident in the work that they did. I have honestly never left a review for anything but this company deserves one. Use them!!!"

"We had a leaking pipe and Jay came out within hours of my call. Charged a fair price for patching up the line so we wouldn't be without water for the night. We liked his work and customer service so much that we got him to repipe our house. He did a fantastic job at an awesome price. He also put in our new kitchen faucet. He's fair, honest, and hard-working. You don't need to look any further."

"My toilet started leaking last week, I had a handyman out to repair it since he was in the neighborhood. He spent an hour on it and ended up cracking the cemented in flange under the toilet. He said he had to remove the linoleum and sub-floor in order to get to the spot needed to fix it. I decided to call Bobby instead.
Bobby came out and made easy and fast work of the problem, he did not need to remove my floor and had the toilet fixed, clean and back in place in under an hour at a fair price.
I just wish I would have called Bobby first! I highly recommend him.

"Really great work!  The team was fantastic, very neat, every night before they left they completely cleaned up so we never felt like we living in a construction zone.  The guys were very conscious of my two dogs.  The work was very well done and they made sure we were completely happy.  When the first set of doors were not exactly what we had in mind they returned them and got what we wanted.  After all the work was done, I decided that I wanted a wooden, not metal transition between the tile and carpet.  Mike sent a guy back to put in what I had requested for no extra charge.  Great bunch of professionals, you will not be sorry.  I had other cheaper estimates for the work, but I'm glad I went with Commonwealth, the quality is very good.  You get what you pay for.

Toilets questions, answered by experts

After flushing the toilet, you should have about half a tank full of water. While the exact amount of water you’ll have will vary, you want to make sure you have enough to cover the bottom of the bowl and enough to sit above the P-trap drain. While low water in your toilet bowl can indicate a problem, too much water can also be cause for concern.

It is safe to flush the toilet even if the pipes are frozen, and this may even help clear out the pipes. But if the supply line is frozen, the toilet won’t refill itself until it’s thawed out. You can still flush by pouring water into the tank to refill it.

Snaking a toilet is similar to clearing sinks and bathtubs, but there are unique circumstances where you’d have to drain, disassemble, and remove the toilet to fix the clog. For stubborn clogs in the toilet trap, a toilet auger—designed with a shorter cable and a protective plastic encasing—can navigate the tight bends and clear the clog without risking damage to the porcelain.

Left unattended, a leaking toilet will eventually cause water damage or mold growth. If you’re a homeowner, you can file an insurance claim for water damage. However, that can be a long and tedious process; sometimes, your insurance company may not cover the damage. Therefore, it’s always best to fix any leak you notice right away if you can.

Completing a full standard bathroom remodel offers the best value, with an average return on investment (ROI) of 70%. However, you don't need a full remodel to make an impact. To maximize value, focus on key components like flooring, the tub and shower, vanity, and cabinets. High-value upgrades include installing a walk-in shower, resurfacing a tub, retiling, or expanding the shower. For more budget-friendly options that still increase value, consider repainting with a light, neutral color, or updating the mirror and light fixtures. It's also crucial to address any necessary repairs, such as leaks, mold, or cracked tiles, as buyers will notice these issues. Avoid flashy upgrades like bathtub jets or steam showers, which don't add as much value.
