"Mr. Mike is truly an honest and very admirable handy man. He is true to his word and explains to you everything he is doing on your home remodel project. He listens to you about everything you want in your remodel plans. I was very nervous to find someone to help me redo my front main bathroom again after the first contractor never showed back up to finish the job. Mr. Mike showed up on time. He looked at my floor and looked at my bathroom. He immediately knew I had a water leak. The tile grout was all cracking on the bathroom floor and the bathroom had a terrible smell like old wet rotted wood. Mr. Mike gutted the bathroom again told me there was no rubber liner used for the shower and I had black mold. I was so upset, but Mr. Mike was so nice and calm which made me feel better. He basically rebuilt my entire bathroom. It only took him 5 days. He also found electrical wires by my water lines!! I am over the moon happy about my new bathroom and beautiful floors throughout my whole house. He also installed new interior doors. I loved the guys work and honesty so much that I redid another bathroom in my back bedroom. Mr. Mike is a handy man keeper!"

"Ell is a very knowledgeable professional who treats your home and time with great importance. Ell was hired to diagnose and fix a ac issue on a newly purchased home, he can put in a timely manner and very reasonable price. He took the time to inspect the unit and then educate myself on the functionality of the equipment. He was able to provide me with the proper maintenance schedule and what to look for in my AC system. Ell provided me with filters and directed me to the best products for the future. Ell installed additional sensors at cost to ease my concerns of disaster situations. Ell demonstrated superior knowledge but also provided outstanding customer service. I am a lifelong customer and do not want anyone else but the Cooling Kings to service my home."

"I requested a ceiling fan installation and minor electrical repair. I asked for an estimate upfront. I was extremely satisfied with the service provided. His hourly rate is reasonable in comparison to rates charged by other electricians and he is very personable."

"Mike and Crystal were very professional from the first phone contact through the completion of the work. They showed up on time, their work was neat and they worked very efficiently. My windows were in pretty bad shape. They really took their time and prepped them very well which showed in the finished product. When asked to redo or touch up anything it was done without question. In the end we received a very good paint job on a timely basis and at a competitive price. I have already recommended Mike's Painting to others in my neighborhood and would use him again for future painting needs.

Hector arrived right on time. The original 2nd floor bathroom vent was located in the ceiling over the center of the bathtub and was turned on/off by pulling a chain while standing in the tub. The fan was vented into to the attic (against building code). Hector corrected the multiple issues very quickly and correctly. He discovered exposed wires and corrected the fire threat. He found the least expensive way to provide an electrical outlet in the 1st floor bathroom which never had one.

Hector works quietly and efficiently. He leaves the work areas clean and neat. After he completed his work, Hector, explained how he addressed all the issues which he identified in his inspection off the house and showed us how the multifunction bathroom fan and lights.

Anytime we have any electrical issues or worries we will always call Mister Sparky and request Hector.

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can oil an electric fan with machine or motor oil but don’t use cooking oil because it can become thick or seize up, damaging the fan. Before oiling your fan, turn it off and remove any dust and debris. Wipe away any excess lubricant after oiling.

Attic and whole-house fans improve a home's energy efficiency and comfort. They ventilate hot air from the attic, which reduces peak cooling loads, lowers reliance on air conditioning, and decreases indoor temperatures. This improved air circulation and expedited heat exit helps lower cooling costs, balance moisture levels, and enhance overall natural airflow, contributing to the efficient operation of other home equipment.

Keeping dust off fans can keep them working optimally and help keep dust mites or bacteria from building up. Dust fans weekly with a duster, microfiber cloth, old pillowcase, or vacuum attachment. You can also try spraying a clean fan with a store-bought dust-repellent product or making a DIY dust-repellent with water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener mixed in.

Yes, you can lubricate a ceiling fan without taking it apart. Ensure the fan is off and clean any dust around the motor area before lubricating. Apply several drops of machine oil to the top of the motor housing where the shaft enters or via the oil ports if available. Regular lubrication helps maintain smooth operation and reduces noise. If your fan lacks an accessible oil port, it may require disassembly or professional maintenance.

Most ceiling fans have a lifespan of anywhere from five to 15 years or 10 years on average. Just how long your ceiling fan lasts depends on the quality of the parts, how much it’s used, and how well you maintain it. A fan with a weak motor that runs on the medium setting nonstop is likely to have a shorter lifespan compared to a fan with a powerful motor that runs on the slowest setting for air circulation.
