"Mack and his crew were great to work with. They were quick to get an estimate to us, to get the product in and to go to work. Our project consisted of installation of about 1600 square feet of LVP. There was considerable demolition to be done including removal of some ceramic tile and some underlayment to sheet vinyl to be removed. Mack sent 5 guys to do the demolition work was done in a day. We are going to have them install the same flooring in the remaining part of the house."

"We had Valley Brothers out to deal with the dilapidated fence at our new house last year. They replaced the bad parts of the fence and built us two beautiful gates that are still working flawlessly a year later, and at a good price. During the entire experience they were pleasant, professional, courteous, and respectful of our time. We will definitely give them a call when we have any future work to do."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Installing new flooring in Eugene offers immediate benefits like improved comfort, easier cleaning, and better resistance to dampness. Over time, quality materials such as hardwood or luxury vinyl can boost your home’s value, reduce the risk of moisture-related repairs, and enhance energy efficiency. Durable floors also attract tenants and help maintain a healthier indoor environment, especially during the wet season.

Helpful?

In Eugene, watch for signs like buckling planks, persistent musty smells, or discoloration on flooring—these often indicate underlying moisture issues. Spongy or uneven spots can signal subfloor damage, while recurring squeaks may point to shifting from seasonal humidity. Even minor mold growth or gaps between boards should be addressed quickly to prevent more extensive repairs and protect your home’s structure.

Helpful?

The longevity of flooring in Eugene depends on thorough subfloor preparation, proper installation techniques, and choosing materials suited for the region’s moisture levels. Using vapor barriers and acclimating flooring before installation are essential steps. Regularly monitoring humidity indoors and maintaining good ventilation help prevent warping or mold. Partnering with experienced local professionals ensures your floors withstand Eugene’s damp conditions for years.

Helpful?

In Eugene, be wary of flooring quotes that skip details like subfloor inspection or moisture testing, which are crucial in this climate. Avoid contractors who won’t show proof of insurance or hesitate to discuss installation methods for hardwood or laminate. If a quote omits cleanup or disposal, or the timeline seems unrealistic for the season, consider it a warning sign. Always confirm required permits are addressed.

Helpful?

For a seamless flooring installation in Eugene, start by scheduling during dry months and allowing time for acclimation of materials like hardwood or laminate. Test subfloors for hidden moisture and confirm if HOA approval or permits are needed. Coordinate with local suppliers to secure climate-appropriate products and arrange for proper storage to keep materials dry. Clear communication with your installer helps prevent delays.
