"Scott Paider of Western Edge Tree Service gave me a fair bid to cut down a very large tree in my yard that was rotting from the inside. He and his team cut down the large tree in one day and cleaned the site such that it appeared not to have ever existed. The job was done efficiently on the date promised for the cost estimated in the bid. I was very impressed and happy that I had contacted Scott Paider."

"I requested quotes to remove 2 walnut trees in front of my house from several contractors and Beto from Albert's was the first to respond. He came to my home to survey the job and provide me with a quote. His was the most reasonable quote I received and I agreed to move forward with the project. Beto gave me good advice and direction for acquiring the permit to have the trees removed. Once I received the permit, Beto was quick to get me on his schedule. He and his crew showed up on time on the day scheduled and made quick work of removing the trees. They all were courteous and thoughtful throughout the process and did a great job of cleaning up afterword. They get high marks all around from me and I would gladly hire them again should the need arise."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Peach trees don’t tend to live as long as other types of trees and crops. They tend to last only about 12 years, and you shouldn’t expect to see a full peach harvest each of those years, either. Young peach trees need a few years to get established before they produce fruit, but you should have plenty of peaches for your pies and cobblers during their mature years, around years four through eight.

Licensing requirements for arborists, also known as tree surgeons, vary by state and municipality. Many areas require a license, which often involves specialized education and experience. Even if not mandated, it's wise to hire a licensed professional as they tend to have more experience. Beyond licensing, look for certifications from organizations like the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) or the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), as this indicates a higher level of expertise. Certified arborists must typically pass a comprehensive exam. Always confirm that the arborist has a business license and is fully insured to protect yourself from liability. Seeking positive recommendations from local homeowners is also a good step in finding a qualified professional.

The Christmas tree type that smells the best to you will ultimately depend on personal preference. But if that classic Christmas tree smell is important to you, choosing a type of tree known for its scent is a safe bet. Try a balsam fir for a spicy, comforting scent or a Douglas fir for a sweeter smell. You may also like Fraser firs, Scotch pines, and blue spruces.

Permits are often required for large tree removals, especially in urban areas or for protected species, ensuring regulation compliance and neighbor safety.

While palm trees can bring aesthetic appeal to your yard, they have a couple of drawbacks. The main disadvantage is that many types require warm climates, so if you live in a cold region, you need to ensure you pick a palm that can withstand the freezing temperatures. Another downside is that maintenance can be difficult because of their height, which means you will need to pay a pro to prune the tree as needed.
