"The team was punctual and professional. They started the job on a Tuesday and had the whole thing completed by Friday. Our finished basement family room looks amazing and we are so pleased with result. The team cleaned up well when the work was done and communicated clearly about the progress of the work and what needed to be done."

"On day 1 they removed (sucked out) 3 levels (and three different types) of insulation. They were very neat and cleaned up afterward. They showed me pictures of the cleared attic. On day 2 they blew in new insulation, sealed an unused vent (which was causing a draft) and installed a new attic hatch (old one was broken, unsealed and not insulated causing a draft). Everything was done as agreed and in the timeline expected. They are also a partner with Energy Trust of Oregon which is a bonus."

"They installed new insulation for us in an un-insulated attic space. They were well-priced, on-time, and very easy to work with. Workers all wore protective equipment and were both professional and friendly."

"I had an extensive rat issue in the insulation under my house. The Crawlspace Crew came over the same day to give me a quote and inspect my crawlspace. They organized the entire job, including removing the insulation, setting up a new barrier, spray underneath my house with an antimicrobial chemical and reinstalling new insulation. They also orchestrated with a pest control company to come and set traps, and close up any holes that were ports of entry for the rats. They were extremely efficient at communicating back with me and Two to the timeline. Overall, I was very impressed with the Crawlspace Crew."

"It went great! Ulises had an immediate opening! The job took about one and a half days. It is done. After 28 cold winters we are now insulated and A LOT warmer. Quieter inside as well. They used blow in cellulose greenfiber insulation in the walls and R-30 in the basement. Yes I would definitely recommend Ulises Pro Insulation for your insulation needs!"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

The best time to insulate a garage ceiling is when the weather is mild and dry. That means it shouldn’t be stormy, snowy, or raining, and the temperatures should be comfortable. Ideally, you’ll insulate your garage ceiling in the fall, before winter hits. Not only will you be the most comfortable, but you’ll also likely see the greatest energy savings heading into the colder weather with a newly insulated garage.

Yes, you should insulate your copper pipes to help regulate their temperature. Well-insulated copper pipes will be protected from freezing and can conserve energy by keeping hot water warm for longer. Foam rubber insulation tubes are the best pipe insulation to prevent freezing since they fit tightly around the pipes while still maintaining some flexibility.

Although it’s not required, air ventilation in a finished basement can help improve the air quality, prevent moisture and mold issues, keep musty odors away, and also maintain the air quality throughout the rest of your home. Proper ventilation will help maintain the value of your investment in finishing your basement. Try basement ventilation methods like installing vents or a dehumidifier for best results.

Yes, insulating ductwork in a crawl space is a worthwhile investment, especially if you live in a colder climate or run your air conditioning for most of the year. Uninsulated ducts can lose up to 30% of their heating and cooling efficiency, which can significantly impact your electricity bill. The project is a relatively small investment and typically only takes a few hours. It's a particularly simple add-on if you are already hiring someone to insulate the entire crawl space. An added benefit is that insulated ducts put off less hot or cold air, making them less attractive to pests.

There are many ways to keep your house cool without central air. In fact, ductless mini-split AC systems are a solid alternative to central AC for situations when you can’t install ducts in your home. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly cooling solution, consider using window AC units or portable air conditioners.
