"Had a clogged drain backflowing into both showers. I have an older home that is notoriously hard to work on. Cameron had no problems. The whole experience was great. I would definitely recommend Georgeâ s Drains to anyone."

Customers say: Super punctual

"I had a corroded shut off valve that was starting to drip. I called columbus water day of appointment to shut off water to the house, then called Jack L. Plumbers to let them know it was off. The plumber came out and changed the valve fairly quickly, cleaned up any mess, and was professional to deal with. The cost was very good considering another company told me they would do it for twice that, which didn’t sound right for a normal service call. Jack L was scheduling two weeks out, so if you need something done soon, call in to get on the calendar."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Your dishwasher drain hose may have a clog if your dishwasher is full of water, your dishes aren’t getting cleaned, or water takes a long time to discharge into the garbage disposal.

A clogged sewer line is not typically covered by homeowner’s insurance, though some sewer line issues are covered. For instance, damage related to a fallen tree is usually covered. Though sewer line replacement is not covered in a standard insurance policy, some companies offer add-ons for this purpose. Read the fine print before spending your own money.

It is safe to flush small amounts of bleach down the toilet. Don’t flush more than ¼ cup of bleach. Instead, consider diluting it and pouring it down the sink drain.

Coke and other sodas do clean a clogged drain, so this is one of those urban myths that has some truth behind it. Coke and similar sodas are caustic and will provide some cleaning power to your drains. However, the power of soda pales in comparison to dedicated cleaners or even baking soda.

It’ll take 20 to 30 minutes to unclog a sewer line using a drain snake or drain cleaner. If you hire a professional, you should expect them to be on-site for three hours or less. In addition to clearing the clog, they’ll do other routine inspections, which adds to the overall time (and cost) required.
