"We called in Ideal Siding to give our old wood siding a new life. Chatting with Cameron was a breeze. Always got back to us in a flash. Even with a tiny cleanup hitch, our new siding looks absolutely stunning. They’ve got our hearty recommendation."

"Ed and his team were excellent. They installed new siding on two gables and trim around windows, the roof line, and garage of our ranch. My husband and I love the look. The price was right compared to other estimates. They offer a variety of materials including vinyl, wood, and James Hardie siding. I forgot to include an item when getting the original estimate and they came out the next day and installed the trim right away. Would definitely use again!"

"Brock Moreland was great. He explained everything in detail and made best recommendations for the issues I had. Windsor Roof Repair was also 1/3 of the cost than Able Roof. Highly highly recommend!!"

"My home is a very contemporary with asphalt shingle roof & cedar siding, however, the builder/architect incorporated a flat membrane roof at the entry that has been highly problematic (translation - prone to leakage). Low windows made proper flashing very difficult. Brian came up with a solution that involved removal of one wall of siding, the existing membrane, and the gutters, and then completely reworking the flashing and window seals prior to installation of a new roof, siding, and gutters. Attention to detail was exemplary and Redtail's crew were a pleasure to work with. Kudos to all involved."

"I strongly recommend Peak Roofing and Siding. I am getting my house painted and wanted to get my 30 year old roof replaced first and they came out within a week and did a fantastic job. They have their own crews and don't subcontract their work. They covered all of my landscape, stripped off the old roof, replaced decking as needed, installed new weather barrier and ice and water shield in critical areas, new flashing, ridge vents and shingles, all in one day. They then cleaned up and you would never know they were here. I work at an architectural firm and everything was done to code! And the cost was reasonable compared to other roofing companies."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Whether or not your homeowners insurance covers EIFS stucco siding depends on the insurance company and the specifics of the policy. Some insurance companies will not cover EIFS due to its susceptibility to moisture damage, and some companies will only cover EIFS manufactured and installed after a certain date, since newer systems mitigate potential damage concerns better than older ones.

The average cost to install stucco siding on a home is around $5,700, with most homeowners paying between $2,200 and $9,100. However, the total cost can range from $750 to as high as $22,750 depending on several factors. On average, you can expect to pay between $7 and $9 per square foot. Key cost factors include the size and complexity of your home, the desired color and texture, labor and material costs in your area, and whether you have a multi-story home. Specific applications have different costs, such as adding stucco over brick ($7 per square foot) or over wood siding ($8.50 per square foot). To save money, you can consider removing the old siding yourself or scheduling the installation during the off-season.

Generally speaking, the thicker the siding, the higher the quality. Thicker siding provides a stronger resistance against extreme weather conditions. Thicker siding also tends to fade more slowly under the sun. Hardie boards, a popular fiber cement siding option, is usually 5/16 inches thick. Meanwhile, masonry-finished cement siding varies from 5/8 to 5/8 inches thick.

Yes, you can install siding over stucco, but it's crucial to ensure the stucco is in good condition first. Before proceeding, inspect the stucco for any signs of damage, leaks, or mold growth. If you discover water damage, mold, or have ongoing leak issues, it's recommended to remove the stucco completely. This step prevents future problems like mold and pest infestations and allows a professional to repair or replace any damaged sheathing underneath. If the stucco is sound, the installation process involves attaching furring strips to the wall's framing directly through the stucco. The new siding is then installed onto these furring strips. A professional may also need to adjust window and door openings to prevent them from being recessed behind the new siding, which can cause aesthetic issues and create potential leak points.

Bleach can be an option if you want to kill mold and mildew clinging to your siding. However, you must water bleach down to the right concentration of a 1/2 cup of bleach per gallon of water to avoid damaging your siding. Bleach can also harm plants in your yard and isn’t safe to use near pets, so employ it with caution.

Local pressure washing services often offer non-bleach options that can powerfully remove mold and mildew.
