Customers say: Super punctual

"The office called 15 mintues before the technician arrived to let us know he was on his way. He arrived promptly and within the timeframe the office committed to when we made the appointment. He went straight to work and was able to unclog our sink fairly quickly even though the clog was so bad it broke the snake tool! He provided tips on how to keep the drain clear and cleaned up after himself. We have used Jack L Woods Plumbing for years now and would recommend them to all our friends. They have always been responsive, professional and reasonably priced."

"Heath was very quick to respond to my inquiry. He came out the next day and gave a very competitive quote. He said he could be here in 7-10 days (other guys were 4+ weeks) to fix my clogged drain line. He actually arrived in 2 days and he and his crew we done in about 3 hours and did an excellent job. They even did a good job of cleaning up all the mess in the yard."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

If you’re not using a septic system, problems with your home’s plumbing won’t cause this—it’s a city problem. A large blockage in the municipal sewage lines may cause those lines to back up into your home. This is extremely unpleasant and can be a serious health risk due to bacteria and other contaminants. If this occurs, call a pro (or your city) immediately.

The spin cycle on your washer should initiate draining, but if you still find leftover water in the washing machine tub, you may need to drain it manually. To manually drain a washing machine, you’ll need to turn off the power supply and locate the drain hose, filter, and pump. Open or disconnect these parts and let the water drain into a bucket.

You’ll likely pay between $300 and $450 to unclog your toilet with Roto-Rooter. However, the price could change depending on if the clog has caused a lot of damage, which your plumbing pro will want to inspect during your service appointment. Keep in mind that you won’t get a quote from Roto-Rooter over the phone. They have to send a pro out for an in-person cost estimate. You can also attempt to snake your own clog for a lot less, and simple drain snakes cost no more than $50.

Most blockages can be cleared in 1-3 hours, but severe issues may take longer.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.
