"Bridges Construction continues to be a great general contractor. This is our second project with Bridges and despite supply chain issues and busy subcontractors, work was scheduled seamlessly. High quality work product, workers all friendly and hardworking and management transparent and consistent. Steve and team's attention to detail and thoughtful advice was most helpful throughout the project and ended up saving us money. Bridges worked carefully around our vintage teal tub and delivered a beautiful and much more functional bathroom. They moved fixtures to better suit the space and replacing all other surfaces along the way. We love it. Thank you Bridges!"

"Needed a double closet repaired after 24 years of wear and tear. Rod and hangars were falling off the wall. New hangars were installed securely (better than the original ones). A sturdier upper shelf was installed, and everything was painted. I no longer have to worry about finding my clothes on the floor. Great job, great workers. Would hire again."

"Highly recommend. We got water damage in our kitchen and Ricky helped us fix it. He was very responsive and helpful with any information we need. His crew were respectful and reliable. With only 2 people working, they were able to fix the water leak and finish our kitchen and bathroom remodel in less than 2 weeks. I am so thankful with Ricky and will be reaching out to them for any house improvement we have."

"

They pointed out several issues I didn't know I had.  That's invaluable.  They followed up with a respectful and understandable declination to do the job.  They also provided recommendations of more local service providers who are permitted to perform the work.

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

While you will always work with a team of professionals at some point during your home build, homeowners with experience can take on some part of the process. Manage the initial brainstorm, brief writeup, and floor layout phase with minimal assistance before contacting a general contractor. And while you can purchase stock blueprints for some home designs, it's always best to speak with professionals when choosing one ideal for your property.

Check reviews, compare quotes, and verify licensing. Ensure the builder has experience with modular construction.

When conducting space planning, building codes and regulations need to be considered. As long as you are taking them into account and discussing them with the architect, you should be able to do your space planning appropriately.

In-law suite floor plans almost always include at least one bedroom, a bathroom, and a combination kitchen/living room area or separate spaces for the kitchen and living room. Larger in-law suites built in accessory dwelling units separate from your main structure can feature multiple bedrooms, dining rooms, and entertainment rooms in addition to the necessities.

No, it’s not legal for unlicensed individuals to conduct structural calculations for buildings or building repairs. Not only do licensing requirements prevent DIYers from tackling this project, but mistakes can also be extremely dangerous and put your property and anyone inside or near it at risk of severe injury or even death. You should always hire a licensed and certified local structural engineer to make structural calculations.
