"First off, Mike showed up when he said he would! He evaluated the situation (new hole & tunnel into a landscape mound) and discussed options with me. Since it wasn't clear what the animal was, he set up a camera with remote connection to his phone and monitored it for a few days. Based on the size of the hole, he gave me some options for what type of animal dug the hole and how to control it. In this case the animal did not return so I saved the cost of him placing bait traps. Mike was very professional and knowledgeable and I will definitely call him again for any critter issues!"

Wonderful professional technician and company. Veteran owned and run. I will continue using this group - returning every 2 months. So far so good - no spiders or other pests! "Frontier was contacted mid morning today, the problem explained, and Blake was here at our home by 12:30PM the same day. He found the problem very quickly and treated as necessary. As it turned out the problem wasn't too bad, just a couple of areas in roof tiles. While Blake was here we also discussed whether to secure his services for general pest control. Not at any time was there an attempt to oversell what so ever. In fact he treated today's problem as a courtesy. As a new customer I didn't know what to expect but I'm here to say what great knowledge, professionalism and customer service. Frontier has my business for sure. This was great experience for sure"

"This is the first time we used Truckee Meadows Pest Control and would highly recommend. Collin was terrific! He called to let us know he was on his way and was on time. Collin reviewed the different services they offer and gave me a thorough report of what they would be doing while at the house. My husband spoke with him as well and had the same opinion. They found a few new spiders we hadn't seen before but are no longer here. Thank goodness! We already have our next visit scheduled. Thanks again for your thorough and hard work. - Anita"

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Most bugs that get into and reside inside our homes are harmless. However, you should address the presence of harmful ones, such as bed bugs, roaches, or termites, that can harm you and your home. Additionally, if you notice a significant increase in bug sightings of any kind, it's a good time to perform a home inspection, looking for water or structural damage that could be inviting them in.

Trees that provide a habitat to bats and an abundance of bugs—their main food source—will attract bats to your yard. Because the North American landscape has changed so much in recent years, bats have a harder time finding trees with cavities to shelter in. If your yard has a dead or dying tree with a lot of sun exposure, bats will likely be drawn to it because trees with those features are less common.

While taking a shower can help wash away fleas and their dirt from your body, it may not completely get rid of all of them. However, if you wash your clothes and bedding in hot water and dry them on the highest heat recommended for the fabric, it can further reduce the possibility of an infestation. However, even if just a few are left, they can reproduce and take over again, so it’s best to take additional measures and call a flea exterminator to ensure they’re gone for good.

While it may cost more to hire an exterminator than trying to treat the problem yourself, a professional is worth hiring if you have a major infestation. If the problem is severe and the ants are causing damage to your home, then DIY methods may not be as effective as a professional treatment. Plus, if you have carpenter or fire ants it’s best not to risk the damage they can cause to your home.

Earwigs may look scary with their pincers, but they don’t pose a serious threat to humans or pets. They are not poisonous, do not sting, and rarely bite or pinch unless handled. While they are not known to transmit diseases, their presence can signal underlying moisture problems in your home, such as mold, water damage, or rotting wood. A large infestation can become a nuisance, and certain species may emit an unpleasant odor. Therefore, while earwigs themselves aren’t dangerous, a large number of them may indicate bigger issues that should be addressed by a pest control professional.
