Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. Tech (Dan) called to confirm appointment and arrived 20 minutes early (a good thing). Diagnosed the problem and located the needed part at a local supplier. Because of the furnace's age, Dan suggested doing a CO test before putting resources into the unit. He ran the test and the result was good. The failing part was acquired and replaced quickly and efficiently. Over the next 24 hours, the furnace was back to working normally.
