About

Paul has been a professional writer for more than 30 years, with the last 17 of those years primarily dedicated to Angie’s List and Angi. His other contributions include Indianapolis’ NUVO Newsweekly, Indianapolis Monthly, U. Magazine, and the entries for Zorro and Saturday morning cartoons in the St. James Encyclopedia of Pop Culture. In addition to overseeing the content of Angi’s monthly magazine, he has been the primary writer of the weekly “Ask Angi” column, syndicated to more than 800 newspapers, for nearly 10 years. As a grad student in the early 2000s, he learned to optimize for search engines long before “SEO” was a thing, and has kept those skills sharp ever since.

Over the course of more than 1,000 articles for Angi, he has covered nearly every form of home renovation and repair. However, his greatest interest remains with the nuts and bolts that keep a home running, such as plumbing and electricity, and informing readers about the delicate balance necessary to maintain them. He also enjoys telling the personal stories of both homeowners and the contractors who maintain their houses.

In his free time, Paul is an unapologetic nerd who can name the comics Avengers in the order in which they joined, an amateur video editor, semi-professional dancer, and action figure customizer.
