Small jobs welcome

"He came out right away, was very friendly, and professional. He explained what was wrong and what needed to be fixed after looking at it in a way that was easy to understand. I greatly appreciate his help and the work he did to fix some damaged wires and replacing a fuse so we had a working thermostat and air conditioner. If I need an electrician in the future, I will be calling Prestige Electric!"

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

"Casey is that guy you donâ t hesitate to refer to others. He is professional, reliable, on time, and knows his stuff. One of his jobs he completed was overhead canned lighting throughout our house which can create a big dusty mess. Our house was clean and the lights looked so beautiful. I wouldnâ t hesitate to contract for anything electrical"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Homeowners in Minot should plan electrical work around seasonal weather, as extreme cold can delay outdoor projects. Consider wind exposure for service masts and check if your neighborhood has overhead or underground utilities. Always confirm permit and inspection requirements before starting, and ask your electrical contractor about flood risks or soil conditions that might affect wiring or conduit installation.

Helpful?

In Minot, older main panels, basement wiring exposed to moisture, and outdoor circuits affected by freeze-thaw cycles often need attention. Kitchens and garages see heavy use and may require dedicated circuits or upgrades. If your home has outbuildings or additions, these areas should be checked for outdated wiring or insufficient power, especially if you plan to add new appliances or equipment.

Helpful?

In Minot, homes with finished basements, multiple levels, or additions often have complex wiring paths that can complicate upgrades. Crawl spaces with frost protection may limit access for new wiring. If your house has older construction or unique layouts, like split-levels or large detached garages, consult an experienced electrical contractor to assess the best approach for safe and efficient electrical work.

Helpful?

Signs your Minot home may need electrical upgrades include frequent breaker trips, dimming or flickering lights, or outlets that spark or feel hot. If your home was built before the 1980s, or you notice missing GFCI outlets in kitchens or bathrooms, it’s wise to have a licensed electrical contractor inspect your wiring and panel for safety and code compliance.

Helpful?

For Minot electrical projects, use cold-rated wiring such as THWN-2, and choose outdoor outlets with weatherproof covers to withstand harsh winters. Install AFCI and GFCI breakers for added protection, and select underground feeder cable for exterior work. Heavy-duty panels and surge protectors help manage power fluctuations, while flexible conduit is ideal for areas prone to ground movement or frost.
