Small jobs welcome

"Awesome work! We moved into an older home that was in desperate need of bathroom renovation. We tried a local company whose quote far exceeded our budget, and they didn't even try to work with us within our budget! I searched around and came across Action construction- not only was Ron very quick to follow up, but he was confident in assuring the work would be completed. Everything was done within the time line provided, and its beautiful!!!! I would definitely recommend Action Construction for your remodel needs."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

In Minot, a single loose board after winter or a small crack near an exterior wall can signal deeper moisture issues or frost heave beneath the surface. Musty odors in lower levels or gaps that widen during spring thaw suggest ongoing water intrusion. Address these early—ND’s extreme temperature swings and high groundwater can quickly turn minor issues into costly structural repairs if ignored.

Helpful?

In Minot, if you notice hardwood planks lifting after snowmelt, persistent squeaks in high-traffic areas, or water stains that reappear after heavy rain, these are strong indicators you need flooring work. However, widespread sagging, uneven surfaces across multiple rooms, or a musty smell may point to foundation or plumbing issues. Always request a moisture test before starting repairs, as Minot’s climate can mask underlying problems.

Helpful?

After your flooring project in Minot, regularly monitor indoor humidity (ideally 30-50%) and keep temperatures steady to prevent expansion or contraction. Inspect for new gaps or unevenness during the first freeze-thaw cycle. Schedule annual professional floor assessments, adjust HVAC settings seasonally, and check exterior drainage to protect against moisture intrusion. These steps help your new flooring withstand Minot’s harsh winters and spring flooding.

Helpful?

Flooring pros in Minot start by using moisture mapping and subfloor inspections to identify water intrusion or frost damage. They then set project boundaries at natural breaks like doorways or transitions between flooring types. Because of frequent freeze-thaw cycles, they may recommend vapor barriers or extra underlayment. Matching sun-faded flooring and ensuring proper expansion gaps are also key to a seamless, durable result.

Helpful?

After completing a flooring project in Minot, keep moisture readings, subfloor inspection reports, and photos showing installation stages. Hold onto product specifications, acclimation logs, and installation certificates, as well as warranties and a maintenance schedule suited for ND’s climate. Detailed before-and-after photos and receipts are crucial for insurance or resale, especially given Minot’s history with flooding and shifting foundations.
