"We purchased a Hague Maxpack water softener and reverse osmosis system from North Carolina Water Consultants and couldn’t be more pleased with our choice. The technicians arrived on time, were professional and accommodative of our install location preferences and answered all of our question thoroughly. We highly recommend this company if you are looking for quality whole house water filtration/softener company. You will not be disappointed."

"Best water conditioning company in the Charlotte area! After dealing with high pressure commissioned sales reps from other water companies, I called Kim. I told her my story and she was so sweet. Scott the owner came to our house within a day, tested our water and made an honest recommendation without putting any pressure on us. Within a week, Mark came out and got everything installed and even moved the water shut off valve so it was more convenient for us. I immediately noticed a difference in our water and I am so happy with the results! They are great people and I highly recommend them!"

"Wow, QCP is fantastic! Shane and Antonio arrived with the new water heater the next day. They are personable, polite and helpful. They covered their shoes with booties, protected the carpet and floors and their path to and from the truck. They cleaned up the water on the basement floor with their wet vac, and even arranged for a flood specialist to come inspect free of charge that day. The new water heater is 50 gallons, gas fired, very efficient, and heated up in about 45 minutes. That first hot shower after 5 days of cold showers was WONDERFUL. The old sump pump was busted and not installed properly, and Shane and Antonio recommended a new one. I hired them to do that too, and will continue to call Queen City Plumbing for all my plumbing needs. And I will request Shane and Antonio every time! Thanks QCP!"

"I was very pleased with the work that was done.  The owner, Tim Hodges, is very personable and easy to work with.  He initially proposed a lot more work than I ultimately accepted but was very gracious when I declined the french drains, full encapsulation and joist cleaning,  I spent less than half the price of the original proposal but am very happy with the result.  The aim was to dry out a very damp crawlspace that was actually raining condensation from the insulation and floor joists.  No attempts at increasing ventilation had helped in the past.  I have an inexpensive humidity meter (can't remember the proper term for that) that I placed in one of the problem areas of the crawlspace after the job was done last year.  The humidity hasn't risen above 49% all summer and it feels cool and comfortable when I enter the space. No condensation.

There was a musty smell that creeped into out guest bathroom last summer after the crawlspace was sealed.  Tim said the joist cleaning would have taken care of that.  This summer the smell has resolved on its own.

I called Accudry back to pipe off another downspout this summer when I had new gutters installed.  Tim sent one man (Ronnie, I think) to do the job and he did great!  He had to take up some stones from my flagstone walk and dig through large and small Oak roots for 4 hours but he said "I'm going to win" and he did.  He had a great sense of humor and kept his composure even on a 95 degree day in July.  The pipe works perfectly and he put everything back together and cleaned up as well as I would have. (That is a compliment: I'm very picky).

I'll call them again if I have water/drainage problems.

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

A single shower consumes an average of over 17 gallons, while brushing your teeth with the water running uses up to four unnecessary gallons. Watering the lawn spreads hundreds of gallons of water across the yard each time. Limiting water usage in these areas can significantly cut down your water bill.

Hard water isn’t necessarily bad for you. In some ways, it’s good for you. If you’re deficient in magnesium or calcium, hard water can give you a mineral boost that you wouldn’t get with soft water. However, this is where the benefits of hard water pretty much stop. Hard water can cause many minor inconveniences and lead to costly, premature replacements of your water-using appliances.

To get utilities set up on a property, you first have to contact the local department of planning to determine whether your property is able to connect to public utilities. From there, you can work with a structural engineer and/or a building contractor to design the layout of utility lines on the property. The pros will need this information as they begin securing building permits before they can start adding lines.

If your property isn’t able to connect to public utilities, you’ll need to consider working with pros to develop a comfortable off-grid home that will meet your needs.

Drinking hard water is not known to have any negative health impacts. Using hard water can lead to dry skin and hair, and the minerals in hard water can build up in pipes, faucets, and appliances. Hard water is more of a threat to your plumbing than it is to your health.

A water softener removes minerals from your drinking water and can make your house water softer. These softeners are designed to extend the lifetime of your plumbing system while also making water safer and more palatable for drinking. Hard water, which is water with a heavy amount of suspended particles, can also cause hair damage, skin irritation, and buildup in your pipes.
