"Bob has done FIVE different projects for our home (a large storage room that now functions as a dry bar and pantry extension; our living room built-in shelving/display units: our laundry room; our master bedroom closets; our garage) and we LOVE every single thing he's done. He is a creative thinker in the project design phase, listening to what we want and working with us to develop a design that really meets our needs. And his workmanship is absolutely top-notch. Every space that he's developed for us is so much more functional. My neighbors have been envious when they have seen how he's turned some fairly unusable or empty space into beautiful rooms. Highly recommended."

Small jobs welcome

"Allen came just the day after I called him and did a great job on installing a new screen door and was very clean, neat and courteous. Just about a week or so later I called him again and had a new ceiling fan installed. His work was fast and neat. He always cleaned up the left over debris and was very kind. The prices were reasonable and I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family. Very professional business and yes I would hire him again !!"

"Justin was on time and efficient about providing a detailed quote. He also made great suggestions about the closet organizing project I wanted done. The day of the job, he arrived on time and completed the work quickly. He cleaned up the work area when he was done. We?re very pleased with our new closet shelves and roll bar. I would highly recommend ?I?m On It? for closet organizing systems and projects."

Closets questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible for basic designs. Professional services ensure proper construction and space optimization.

Most packing services take 4-12 hours, while unpacking may take 1-2 days, depending on volume.

The time it takes to build a closet varies widely depending on the project's size, complexity, and level of customization. On average, construction can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

A simple reach-in closet might be completed in less than a day, while a more complex walk-in closet could take one to two days or more. A typical project often falls in the 2-to-5-day range. However, a large, highly customized walk-in closet that requires structural changes, like moving a load-bearing wall, will take significantly longer.

A professional contractor can provide the most accurate time estimate for your specific project. If you are planning a DIY build, it is best to budget additional time.

The vertical space between closet shelves depends on what you're storing. For clothing like shirts and sweaters, 10 to 12 inches is enough. Towels and linens need 12 to 15 inches, while tall storage bins may require 18 inches or more. Overcrowding your shelves can reduce accessibility and increase clutter, so be sure to leave breathing room for your items.

Hanging and folding clothes are efficient ways to pack your clothes during a move. When choosing a packing method, consider the type of clothing you’re packing. For example, clothing such as dresses, suits, blouses, and items made of silk and similar fabrics are ideal for hangers. On the other hand, it’s easier to fold pants, shorts, t-shirts, thick sweaters, and more.
