Customers say: Quick response

"Words cannot convey how overly pleased I am with the two jobs the Mancia Brothers did for me. They extended my patio with pavers and installed a PVC fence that extended from one privacy panel to the other. The quality of their work, fair price, neatness, professionalism and friendliness exceeded my expectations. They problem solved an issue I had with my property line and the final product is beautiful. They will be coming back in the Spring to do a couple of small yard projects I have. Thank you Mancia brothers."

"I hired Vale Construction to repair a crack in the sidewall of my garage on a house I am selling that was leaking a bit of water in heavy rain. They took a look, suggested a correction and submitted a reasonable quote. They were able to schedule the work quickly, showed up on time, completed the work and let me know when they were finished. The repair looks great and fixed the issue. I would, and will absolutely hire them again when I replace the driveway in my new house."

At 1OAK, we don’t just stack rocks. We understand that the difference between a "yard" and an "outdoor living space" isn't just materials, it’s vision. And the biggest obstacle between you and that vision has always been uncertainty. What will it look like? Can I trust the price?\n\nWe fixed that. \n\nCall us today to get a complimentary estimate.

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is usually possible to repair a damaged brick mailbox. A professional brick mason or masonry contractor can perform the repairs. They can assess the damage, provide an estimate, and help you determine if the repair is worthwhile based on the mailbox's value and the extent of the damage. The repair process may involve sourcing replacement bricks and mortar. Damaged bricks can be cut out and replaced, or the mortar joints can be cut out and retucked. It's important to note that the new mortar may differ in color from the original. If the mailbox insert itself is damaged, it can typically be cut out and replaced as well. If your brick mailbox has been completely destroyed, you should check with your local building code enforcement office before rebuilding, as some areas do not allow brick mailboxes due to the potential hazard they pose to drivers.

Mortar is a mixture of sand and cement that binds materials, such as bricks, stones, and concrete blocks, together. Think of it as the glue that fills in the gaps between bricks and stones, then seals them in place to prevent damage or deterioration. Mortar also helps spread the load across a wall or structure, keeping cracks and shifting at bay.

Do not use super glue to hang lights on brick unless you want your lights up year-round. Hot glue is a better choice because it’s easily removable with a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Super glue is very hard to remove, and you could tear off parts of the brick in the removal process.

They provide excellent heat retention and durability and add a classic aesthetic to a home.

When painting brick, each application method has pros and cons. Spraying is much faster but may not penetrate the porous surface of the bricks. Rolling is effective for getting paint into the bricks but doesn't work as well on the mortar. Brushing is very time-consuming and also won't penetrate beyond the surface. For the best results, a combination of spraying and rolling is often recommended. If you use a roller, choose a thick option (at least a half-inch) and ensure the paint gets into all the crevices for even coverage.
