"It went great! Mr Moreau came out and did an awesome job! I originally planned for 1 day but it turned into a 2 day task as he had to move A LOT of dirt for us. We have gone from having a large unusable space in our back yard to doubling, if not tripling, the amount of usable level ground. This is much needed and reclaimed space. He even managed to smooth out a spot for a great big shed as well. Will highly recommend him and plan on hiring him again in the future for another project. Can't say enough great things about him."

"Was lucky enough to find this company. My previous landscaping company went out of business. I was searching for a company to help with fall leaf pick up and removal for the season. As soon as I contacted, Mudrock, Nick reached out immediately and took care of me. At his first visit, not only did he take away all my leaves, he tidied out my entire yard before he left. Very professional, kind, and fast response, I highly recommend using this company for any landscaping needs"

Small jobs welcome

"Shadyside Landscaping responded to my request even though it was raining, which I appreciated. Two gentlemen got the work done. My only issue is that I had to remind them to clear away debris after they finished the work in the back yard."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

If you choose to leave gaps between your pavers, you can grow some ground cover plants between them for an organic feel. Look for plants such as creeping thyme, dymondia, jewel mint of Corsica, or clover.

Palm trees are relatively easy to grow, especially when planting different varieties in their native habitats. While regular watering is crucial in the first couple of months while the palm develops a strong root ball, palms typically require minimal maintenance once they’re established. You’ll need to prune palm fronds once or twice per year to keep it in tip-top shape.

How much 4 yards of dirt will cover depends on how deep you want the soil to be. In general, a yard of dirt will cover 324 square feet for a 1-inch depth or 100 square feet for a 3-inch depth. Therefore, you can expect 4 yards to cover between 400 and 1,296 square feet if you keep your soil depth between 1 and 3 inches.

Multiple rules of thumb exist when discussing tree planting. When planting a tree, the best rule of thumb is to provide it with everything it needs to survive and thrive in its new environment. That may mean learning about the type of tree you're planting and studying the best methods of taking care of it before purchasing and planting.

While you can leave roots in the ground, if you don’t want the shrub to regrow again over time, it’s best not to leave any roots behind. Ensure you remove as much of the shrub as possible, including the root ball and any main roots you can see, to prevent new growth. Some gardeners opt for using a chemical treatment to prevent the stump from growing back, but this can kill beneficial microorganisms living in your soil.
