STONE WALL REPAIR in Holly Springs, NC The project went exceptionally well and we are very pleased with the entire process from start to finish. We have a 18” high stone retaining wall in our front yard and after a very short period of time, we noticed that stones were coming loose from the wall and falling onto the dirt. Long story - the original company that built the wall ignored our calls for help/repairs - no surprise there. So the search began. After interviewing several companies, we settled on John Bungert at Stonebridge Yards. And we are incredibly pleased with the results. He immediately identified the problem - there was no footing put in for the stone face. He clearly explained how he would fix the problem and ensure that we wouldn’t have any further issues with the wall. After a day and a half, John and his team had repaired the wall and it looks amazing. You’d never know there had been an issue and his attention to detail was incredible. He and the team were very cautious when digging the trench for the new foundation, ensuring that our lawn was not disturbed. And when laying the new stone, they were meticulous in ensuring that no mortar was visible. We enthusiastically recommend John. He’s exception at stone wall repairs. John was great!  He responded promptly to my inquiry.  He met with me and understood my concerns about our front steps.  John provided many great suggestions and his price was very competitive.  He seemed to really know his stuff, so we chose to use him for the service.
He let me know exactly when he would start the project and how long it would take him.  We met (in the rain!) at the rock yard so that he could show me multiple choices of stone for our project. He offered his suggestions and we picked a stone.
The job started about a week later than he anticipated, due to a lot of rain, but he stayed in constant contact with me so that I understood the situation.
His workers were professional as well.  Demolition and construction stayed on track, and the work site was cleaned up perfectly each evening.
A few months later, and after the cold icy winter we had, there was a manufacturing issue with the sealant I had chosen for the stone steps.  John responded promptly and worked consistently to fix the situation (part of the problem was the "look" I wanted from the stone; it had nothing to do with John's abilities).  He was obviously very willing to provide excellent customer service and would not deliver the final job until I was 100% satisfied.
John is a professional, hands down. I would (and will!) use him again for future projects, knowing how he makes the process easy and pleasurable.

From start to finish, John Bungert was a consummate professional. The quality of his work is outstanding as evidenced by the finished product. He literally salvaged a horrible brick and stone front and back stoop remodel done by a previous Angie's List contractor (Elite Home Preservations...stay away!!!!!). John was great because he took the time to ask exactly what we were looking for and he made it clear what he could do to fix our botched job from the previous contractor. He came in under budget and ahead of schedule. It's obvious John makes a habit of under promising and over delivering. It was a pleasure working with him. Both my stoops look fantastic!

John was very professional when he came by to give us an estimate. He allowed us to explain what we were looking for, where many others wanted to tell us their ideas first. He then gave some feedback that we appreciated and ended up integrating into the design we were looking for. He also was the only service provider who gave us a rough quote before he left. Several of the other companies we had looked at took a few weeks to get back with us.

While he was not the least expensive quote we had, his prices were extremely reasonable. We selected him based on the price (the firm quote ended up mirroring the rough quote with the exception of some minor design changes), but more based on the fact that the examples we were finding to show other providers of what we wanted were pictures from his website. Finally, his expertise in the area made us extremely comfortable in choosing to work with him. He recognized types of stone without thinking about it. After seeing our existing wall one time he was able to go to the stone yard and select samples of material that ended up matching flawlessly for the new section of wall.

The work was completed very quickly. The expectation was 4-5 days, but the reality ended up being 3 1/2 days. The final price we paid was exactly what was agreed to with none of the "after the job" gotchas that we read about with other providers. And the final product blew away our expectations. Both the new pathway and the rebuilt/redesigned wall have already had dozens of compliments from our neighbors. It has enhanced the overall curb appeal of our house to the degree that I have had two neighbors and a realtor stop by to ask who did the work.

I will be using John for any future projects that involve any type of stonework or hardscaping. I would also highly recommend him to anyone else thinking of doing these types of projects.
