"Called today for a non-emergency service (no water leaks at the moment).  I scheduled an appointment for the following week.  A couple hours later they called and said they could come today.  Jason arrived a few minutes later.  He was very friendly and professional.  He reviewed the damage from the leak (we had turned off the water).  He was able to quickly determine the likely cause.  After making the fix he double checked to ensure the problem was fixed.  I really appreciated his expertise and ability to ensure the fix worked.  I also appreciated his friendly demeanor.
I have used Kirkwood Plumbing before and they will be the first for me to call.

"Highly recommend John with Mayo Plumbing. He was prompt in responding to my initial call, provided an estimate that was much more reasonable than other commercial companies, was able to get me scheduled the next day and did a fabulous job installing a garbage disposal, fixing drain pipes that were a mess and installing a pressure regulator. Thanks for caring to go the extra mile. John is a fabulous plumber!"

"This is the second time we’ve hired GA Chott during the past 15 years. We hired Darryll and Angie and team to build out a bathroom from scratch (no plumbing) in our upstairs attic space, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The quality of the work is unsurpassed. We had an inspector ask us about who did the work so that he could contact them for a job in his own home. The quality and attention to detail were incredible. James is purely a rockstar – he works quietly (considering it included demo and the like), cleanly and respectfully. He kept us in the know along the way and really brought the details together. He was always available when we had questions and did quality work from top to bottom. Most of all, James really treated our home as though it was his own. The coordination of the project (which included several required inspections) was all handled by Angie and team. She is a great communicator, and that can’t be overlooked in a project of this scale. Again, she was always available for any questions we may have, and made it feel like we were their only clients. Darryll helped us navigate decisions and brought the full plan together. When we encountered a couple of small issues, he was quick to address and correct them, and assured that things were properly handled. This was a large, 8-week project. We did our homework and acquired several bids. GA Chott wasn’t the cheapest (or the most expensive), but they were clearly the best choice. We give our highest recommendation. You’ll be pleased with both the quality of the work and how it’s handled throughout the process."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

For residential plumbing in MO, approved materials include copper, CPVC, PEX, and PVC. PEX stands out as an excellent choice for repiping because it resists freezing during harsh winter temperatures. When running exterior underground lines, bury them below the 18-inch frost depth to prevent bursting. If you live near the Meramec River floodplain, install reliable backflow prevention devices on floor drains to protect your home from sewer backups.

Helpful?

In Arnold, strictly cosmetic plumbing updates like swapping a fixture do not require permits. However, functional work like pipe replacements demands local approval. Because many local homes date back to the 1960s, cosmetic upgrades consistently uncover deteriorated galvanized or cast iron pipes. You must fix these functional issues before closing the walls. Address any cosmetic water stains immediately, as they indicate severe freeze damage or moisture intrusion.

Helpful?

A major mistake during plumbing upgrades in Arnold is skipping local permits for functional work, which creates issues during home sales. Homeowners also err by making partial repairs to deteriorating cast iron or galvanized systems instead of replacing the entire compromised section. Additionally, failing to install backflow preventers in flood-prone areas causes severe damage, and burying exterior supply lines above the regional 18-inch frost depth leads to frozen pipes.

Helpful?

Your foundation type significantly impacts plumbing in MO. Homes built on concrete slabs require cutting through the floor to access drain lines, increasing project complexity. Older properties consistently contain outdated cast iron drains or flexible gray plastic pipes that demand complete replacement. Furthermore, houses located in designated flood zones feature specialized check valves and elevated systems that require a professional to navigate safely and ensure full code compliance.

Helpful?

Treat any active leak, sewage backup, or failed sump pump in Arnold as an immediate plumbing emergency, especially near flood zones. Frozen or burst pipes require instant action to prevent extensive damage. Schedule minor fixture drips and slow drains for a later date. However, address slow drains promptly before they turn into full blockages caused by root intrusion or collapsing clay pipes common in older regional homes.
