"all work was completed as planned. This crew had the added challenge of hauling all the concrete and limestone mixture up my steep driveway to fill the pumping machine. Having done this type of work before, I know how much additional effort this required. When work was done the crew thoroughly cleaned the work area and driveway. Crew asked for my input on the job before they started cleaning. I was very happy with the professionalism and work ethic of this crew. They would recommend Metro Concrete to anyone who needs concrete raising."

"These guys were great! They were friendly and very knowledgeable about what they were doing. They looked at my steps and didn't exaggerate the problem. I was told what needed to be done and that they were going to drill a few holes to inject the limestone grout, and then did exactly what they said they were going to do. I did call around to get quotes from other companies and was quoted $3000 as a starting point. I paid a fraction of that cost and got my money's worth. If you are ever in need of concrete repair, call these guys! I'm glad I did."

"Chris and Mike did an excellent job! Our sidewalk was sinking 2-3 inches in spots. They explained exactly how the process works. Started the job on time and was very professional. I'm impressed with how well it turned out. Our sidewalk is now level. Thank you!"

"They did great. The entire surface was level and free from tripping hazards. It is important to have them seal the cracks because there will be water from snow melt and the concrete will move. This will get you the 5 yr warrantee just in case."

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Yes, bundling a concrete leveling project with other upgrades is a smart way to save in St. Paul. Contractors often provide discounts for combining services like foundation repair or driveway sealing, and you also save on equipment mobilization costs. Coordinating with landscaping is also efficient, as the ground may be disturbed anyway. Scheduling during the winter can also lead to savings on your St. Paul home improvements.

Helpful?

In St. Paul, certain habits can undermine concrete leveling work. Excessive use of de-icing salts deteriorates concrete, while aggressive snow removal with metal shovels can cause surface damage. Failing to maintain gutters leads to heavy spring runoff that erodes the base. Also, neglecting to seal small cracks that form after Minnesota's harsh freeze-thaw cycles will allow water to penetrate and cause further damage.

Helpful?

In St. Paul, a key trade-off is timing versus cost; spring and summer offer ideal conditions at a higher price, while fall and winter work is more affordable but risks weather delays. You'll also choose between methods like mudjacking, which is less expensive but may resettle in local clay soils, and polyurethane foam, which has a higher upfront cost but performs better in Minnesota's climate.

Helpful?

In St. Paul, driveways are the most common area needing concrete leveling due to freeze-thaw cycles and expansive clay soil. Front walkways and steps are also highly susceptible because of foot traffic and salt runoff. Garage floors often settle from water infiltration from snow-covered cars, while basement floors can sink due to St. Paul's high water table and soil conditions, especially in older homes.

Helpful?

To keep your family safe during a concrete leveling project in St. Paul, establish a clear work zone with cones and tape, which is vital in MN's shorter winter daylight hours. Keep children and pets indoors or in a secured backyard. Discuss curing times with your contractor; polyurethane foam sets much faster than mudjacking, allowing your family to resume normal activities sooner and reducing potential hazards.
