About us
Services include: colored & stamped concrete, standard concrete and exposed aggregate for - driveways, patios, walks & steps, fire pits, pool decks, floors, athletic courts and garage aprons. Owners, Matt Longawa and Mike Dodson, have worked together since their college years, collectively having more than 50 years combined experience in the concrete industry. Matt was raised in Apple Valley and currently resides in Lakeville. Mike is a resident of Hastings. Md Concrete was started as a side business in 1999 by the two friends after their “hobby” turned to a passion. When their sideline business became so successful that it was taking more time than their full-time jobs, they officially took the leap as entrepreneurs and have been enjoying it ever since. Both Matt and Mike are active members of the south and east metro community. MD Concrete is a locally owned business serving the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

We were extremely happy with MDconcrete and the work that was done. What impressed us is that Matt or Mike (owners) were hands on throughout the process of putting a new concrete driveway in as well as stamped concrete border, sidewalk and patio. They were in constant communication with us and showed us what they were thinking along the way when it came to minor changes of borders. It was so refreshing to find a company that not only sold the job to us but also was there daily when the work was being done. The whole crew was wonderful and the final results are great. We have had so many compliments from people over the past few weeks since the job was completed. We very much recommend this company!

MD Concrete was top-notch-professional from the start. From planning, communication throughout, prep, and execution. Every member of their crew was great to work with, very pleasant and professional. Our new driveway, front sidewalk, and extra pad for garbage bins look great and will last! I could not recommend them more.

We hired Md Concrete to do our front walkway and back patio. Right from the get-go they were wonderful communicators. Other concrete companies I'd contacted either didn't return my calls, said they would show up for a consultation and then were no-shows, or didn't respond for over a month. Md Concrete called me back the same day I contacted them. They came out to give a consultation quickly and got back to us with a quote within a few days. During our deck building they came out to help consult with the deck builder on where the stairs should end so they could get their concrete in the correct spot. They kept us up to date on when they would be out to prep the areas, when they would be here to pour, and what to do afterwards to ensure the poured concrete stayed nice. We were very happy with their company, their work, and especially their communication skills. We highly recommend them and will use them again if we ever have any concrete needs.

These guys are pros. Matt was very responsive when quoting, taking time to discuss options and get to the exact solution we wanted. Throughout the entire project, communication was excellent. When the crews arrived, they were on time, courteous, worked hard, did an amazing job and left the work site cleaned up better than expected. I will definitely contract with them again for any future concrete work I need.

We had all our driveways replaced in a development from asphalt to concrete. The concrete in our driveway was laid in the fall and in the spring we noticed that it was spalling and flaking. I emailed and called the owner he told me it was my fault from the ice off my vehicles over the winter. That was 2 yrs ago, now almost the entire first layer of concrete is coming off our driveway. If this is normal wear and tear I hate to see in another 2 yrs we will down to the gravel.

We are very familiar with our work and haven’t seen any driveways that we’ve installed that are as damaged as you’ve described. Please reach out to us. I’d like to review it. 952-985-5516 or [email protected]. I’m sorry for your frustration but it’s very important to note that the townhome association did NOT accept our proposal for sealing the new driveways with a salt protectant sealer (Siloxane) which is a big risk considering how snow removal company’s use a lot of salt. Furthermore, the association agreed to a limited warranty which does NOT include any damage via salt. I’m sorry but we offered all the necessary protection and nothing can be done after the effect."
