I absolutely LOVE how my chimney turned out! I'm sending pictures and recommending Guardian to everyone I know, including a contractor I talked to the other day! Guardian rebuilt my chimney from the roofline up. I was so nervous because of several bad remodeling experiences in the past, but not this time! Guardian is the absolute best! Everything went so smoothly! Talking to Joseph, the owner, over the phone, from the very start, was a very pleasant experience. I was able to send him pictures of my chimney, via my cell phone, and he got back to me within the hour with an estimate, and then he assured me that if the job went over the estimate, for any reason, he would pay for it out of his own pocket. Amazing! This was a one-day job. Joseph, came to the door at the start of the job to introduce himself. His team arrived on time, worked very hard all day long, and were very cheerful, polite, and respectful. The crew is a top-notch team. I'm still amazed at how well they matched the color and pattern of the brick to the lower part of my chimney - even the mortar matches perfectly! And there wasn't one piece of debris left in my yard! Those guys are priceless! Joseph, You run your company like no one else I know! This is the first positive experience I've ever had when having to hire someone to do construction on my home! Start to Finish, top-class experience! Thank you so much

I was very happy with the professionalism and the fact that they use their own crews instead of subcontractors. I got the impression that they did everything right, not quick and dirty.

We selected Craftsman's Choice on the strong recommendation of our perfectionist neighbor, who was satisfied with their work. During the project, I had numerous others stop by to tell me that they had used Craftsman's Choice, too, and were pleased with the service. We had extensive work done--a complete redo of the exterior of our home, which is now one of the best-looking houses in the neighborhood. I was completely satisfied with the work quality, professionalism, and particularly the character of Ben Juncker, who worked with us closely throughout the process. Ben understood that we lead busy lives and that he would have to take charge not only of his responsibilities of the project (employees, scheduling, etc.), but that he would have to be persistent in helping guide us through our decisions and to make it easy for us to do our part to keep the project moving along. In short, Ben was able to manage us as well as his employees. I had enough confidence in Ben's character and attention to detail to let him make certain selections, and we were not disappointed by doing so. In sum, I would hire Craftsman's Choice again, and have plans to do so for another project next spring

Our old garage was literally sinking into the ground, so we new we needed to replace it. We shopped around for years and ultimately got a bid from Craftsman because they had done such great work with other window and woodworking projects we've had. They came in at about the same price as two of our other lowest estimates, but with higher quality materials (HardiePlank instead of vinyl siding, etc) and we knew that they take pride in their work and were easy to work with. So we went with them. They tore down the old garage, laid the new foundation and framed it up in 2 weeks--it was lighting fast. After that, there was a bit of a delay in getting the siding up and finishing the project, but overall it was inordinately fast, about 4-5 weeks until final inspection, and all of our neighbors were surprised by the speed, quality and professionalism of the crew. The final product is beautiful, they are one of the best companies in the country for installing HardiePlank, the garage is extra tall, with an 8 foot tall door, 2x6 construction, plenty of storage room, and everything that we wanted. We had a fence that connected to the old garage and Craftsman even took care of moving the door and a panel to make it work with the new garage (larger footprint), as well as removing a bush to make a new path along side the garage. They took care of all the little details and didn't nickel-and-dime us, they just looked at it as one project that they wanted to do to our complete satisfaction, and they did so. We will definitely keep using them for any project they'll do and strongly recommend them. We have used a lot of contractors over the years to work on our old house, and they are the best in terms of a combination of quality/professionalism/price

CCI was great to work with. They know their stuff and the work is quality. We love our new home exterior. They were in the middle of the pack for quotes, and I arranged for the masonry and plumbing work, but they arranged everything else. No monetary overage occurred. Jeff is an amazing project manager. He is the definition of "Git r Done." I will say that I had to project manage a few times to push for dates and updates, but all in all, it all got done and it got done well. Do not hesitate; use CCI

Keith came out to meet with us several times to inspect our property, prepare his bid, and go over the proposal with us. He was very thorough, professional and we really enjoyed getting to know him. He stood out compared to the several other bids that we got. The team came out and did an outstanding job taking out the old, rotting trim and replacing it with new product. They primed the wood on all sides (a very important step that some people miss and will cause problems down the road) and installed it very efficiently. We painted the trim ourselves. They accidentally cracked a window when they were working (it's a 90 year old house, we weren't surprised) and offered to replace it at no cost to us. They are a stand-out company in terms of price, quality and professionalism, definitely use them--we will certainly continue to do so. Finally, we had them install a new front door that we purchased and stained ourselves. They did a great job and their price was better than any bid we got. 5 stars

They were very professional and prompt. I enjoyed having them work on my house. They were easy to work with and above all listened to me. Every night they would clean the site before they left for the day. The salesman, Mike Ziegler, was easy to work with and showed us lots of examples. We kept him busy because we were picky about how we wanted the house to look. We were also looking at another contractor but he wasn't listening to us and was going in a direction we were not happy with. Mike gave us an amazing reference list that was probably 20 pages long with addresses and descriptions of their past projects. This was very helpful to us especially in choosing color for the siding. Their reference list would tell what color was put on different houses and we could drive to those locations and look at the color. That proved to be more useful than looking at the tiny colors in the brochure. Jeff Witt, was the project manager who kept everything running smoothly and on schedule. He coordinated all of the contractors (stonework, carpenters, windows, insulation, etc.). There were some other things that we needed done (electrical and gutters) that they also lined up for us and we paid those contractors separately. This was a big project for us and we changed our mind on things during the process. They were flexible enough to accommodate our wishes. When the project was done Jeff and I had a final walk through to make sure I was completed satisfied with the results. I appreciated that. We made 3 payments to them, an initial payment to start the project and order the windows, a second payment halfway through and the last payment after the final walk through. I was very pleased with the outcome

We selected Craftsman's Choice based upon reviews on the James Hardie WEB site and reviews on Angie's List. We contacted the company and Ben came to our home to discuss the project and give us a quote. Ben was very personable and explained the work and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. Ben gave us a list of customers in our area and we looked at several of the homes to evaluate the work appearance and quality. The work was started as scheduled and took a little longer than planned due to weather issues. A project manager (Chris) was assigned to our job and he was knowledgeable and professional. A 3 person crew was assigned to do the siding, soffit, fascia, door and window wrap work. The same crew (Eric, Rick and Bennie) worked dally until the work was done (about 3 weeks). We were impressed with their work and their professional skills. They answered all of our questions that arose during the work process in a direct and pleasant manner. The stone work was performed in 1 day by a separate crew from a subcontractor. The stone work was done to our satisfaction and looks very nice. The painting was performed about a week after the siding completion (to allow for the caulking to cure) in one day by a crew of 3 people. Ben had noted that there was some rotting wood around 4 of our windows and said that when the siding was torn off that they would evaluate what needed to be done. It was determined that the windows needed to be removed to repair the damage. Ben did not pressure us but proposed replacing the windows rather than reinstalling the old (20 year old) windows. We chose to replace the windows and that was done after they arrived in 1 day by a crew of 3. This crew was different that those that did the siding but were also very knowledgeable and professional. Overall, the house looks great and we are very pleased with the results of the work performed by Craftsman's Choice. We believe that they gave us a fair price and just took care of a number of minor things that came up during the process without charging us for each and every item. Everyone that worked on our home was personable, highly skilled, and professional. We enjoyed interacting with them as the work progressed. We would have liked to have a little more pro-active communication from them during the various work steps to keep us informed about pending deliveries and starting dates for the various work steps. We discussed this concern with Ben (one of the company owners) during a follow-up visit and he said they were growing rapidly as a company and planned to improve on this communication work. Everyone (neighbors, friends, and relatives) that has seen our home has commented on how nice it looks and our neighbors were particularly impressed with the crew's daily clean-up to keep the home as neat and tidy as possible during the work process. We would highly recommend Craftsman's Choice to anyone that wanted siding and related work performed on their home

What's the saying? All is well that ends well? That does a pretty good job summing up our experience with CC. I can recommend them without hesitation and plan on future business. There were problems that came up, some were quite significant, but it's not so much there were challenges but more of an issue of how CC handled those issues. While the idea of residing our house was something discussed, we had ugly EIFS (aka - fake stucco) and equally noxious vinyl siding, we didn't have that push to undertake a whole-home residing project. Until, that is, we found evidence of water intrusion. The moisture found was under a window located on the main floor. And my-oh-my was there damage. All framing directly underneath this window was completely rotten. Blackened framing that looked horrible. The cause was improper flashing on a brick row which funneled water directly into the wall ? 14 years of damage, BAD. This was the first sign of trouble and what got us to move on this project. Knowing the reputation of EIFS and with the damage discovered under the window we decided it was time to get some work done. Contacted CC and other contractors to solicit a bid for the job. Keith from CC was our initial contact. We made arrangements to meet and discuss our needs and get a quote for the work to be done. The scope of the project was fairly large: - Reside house - Repair framing / insulation / vapor barrier / drywall under window due to water intrusion - Replace window - Remove top level of bricks and install a masonry cap with proper pitch When we first met Keith we were impressed with his readiness and demeanor ? I would describe it as quietly reassuring. We showed him the damaged framing and window, discussed our initial ideas on siding and what we'd like to achieve once the job was all done. With that Keith departed and informed us it would be approximately 1 week to pull together the needed information and provide us with a cost estimate. This all occurred during the Christmas holiday period so we were impressed with his attentiveness during a busy time for everyone. The cost estimate was emailed to us and provided exact detail on everything outlined. Trust me when I say, you will have few questions about the scope of their work. We reviewed their ?Siding Proposal Details? which clearly outlines what they will (and won't) do including details on what they will and won't repair should it be damaged during the siding installation process (this was relevant in our case). At this point we were reasonably confident that CC would be our choice and after a couple of back-and-forths with Keith on what our ColorPlus color choice would be we gave the green light and got things rolling. Approximately 5 weeks passed and was then notified all material were ready and CC got started. Job commenced and a crew of about 6 laborers arrived. The project manager, Jeff, made a routine appearance but otherwise the crew-lead, Chris, was the daily go-to for anything. Was told the job would take approximately 4 weeks and despite some thoroughly rotten spring weather they were true to their word. Now there were some problems along the way ? it's a big job so no surprise there. The first issue was how the crew sided a bump-out. The renderings Keith had done showed the whole of the bump-out sided in shingles. The first attempt at siding this area was not going to work ? it looked nothing like shown in renderings so we asked them to do it over. The problem was Jeff, the project manager, was not receptive to the idea. In fact he was rather obstinate. He made it clear that the job needed to get finished up and at this late stage a redo wasn't going to work. From our perspective: wrong answer. We made it clear that was not acceptable and made it clear to him. Well, perhaps we caught Jeff at a bad time, everyone has a bad day, but Chris surfaced the issue and made it clear that they'll do what they need to do to fix it. Which they did. Removed the siding as originally installed and on the second try got it spot on. Excellent. The only other issue, and this was a big one, had to do with some damage done to a whole-home generator that sits adjacent to our home. There wasn't any damage done to the generator itself ? it was the wiring within the wall near the generator. These generators are about the size of small refrigerator lying on its side. They kick on when the current cuts-out. It was discovered, while CC was installing siding near the generator, that the generator was not starting for its weekly exercise ? yes, that's what they call it, exercise. I contacted the electrician that did the installation and to make a long story short it was discovered (after a LOT of time diagnosing the problem) a nail had missed its mark, the framing stud, and pierced the wiring conduit holding the power lines running from the generator to the sub-panel - OUCH. This caused a short which prevented the generator from starting. Not good. I was informed by the electrician that none of his time was covered under the generator's warranty which meant we were on the hook for his time. And that time is EXPENSIVE. It was a BIG bill. This wasn't a pierced AC freon line. This was MANY hours of an electrician's time. I asked the electrician to directly invoice CC and informed both Keith and Jeff of what happened and our expectation that they will cover this cost. Without hesitation they informed me they would cover the cost and were fine with the direct billing by the electrician. After some back-and-forth with the electrician and CC we finally got things ironed out between the two parties and the electrician was paid for his time. All is well that ends well. Now, it should be said that one of the reason we were very enthusiastic about hiring CC is they explicitly state in their ?Siding Proposal Details? the following: CC fixes any damage to your wiring or AC-lines caused by the siding installation at no additional charge. Believe me, lots can go wrong on these jobs and this is a perfect example. At a previous home we had reside by a different contractor and with damage to our AC lines we understood the importance of having a contractor that will repair those things they damage. This is a perfect example of something that can go horribly wrong for both customer and contractor but did not because of how CC chose to deal with the issue: they were true to their word. Priceless! Strengths: - Easy to work with ? everyone, from Keith to the siding crew - Attentive and responsive - Leaves work site in good condition - Stand behind their work Would I hire CC again? Absolutely

The project took less than a month and seemed to go quickly. As to be expected a big project like this, there were a few bumps in the road, but the company was repsonsive and kept me apprised of what was happening. All the associated sub-contractors and employees were easy to work with. The total cost was towards the upper end of my price range, but the materials and workmanship appear to be of top quality and I feel I got my money's worth on the project

"In Aug./Sep. 2019, Rogers Masonry did a tear-down of our decrepit stuccoed chimney, followed by a beautiful brick re-build. The project posed some every unique challenges that Roger handled with a high level of professionalism and diligence. He is exceptionally knowledgeable in all chimney-related matters and provided almost-daily progress reports to document the work his crew was performing. His communication was exemplary, and he was responsive to our questions/concerns, all of which he promptly addressed. We were especially appreciative of the many pictures of the ongoing work that Roger provided throughout the project. We have already had the opportunity to make a referral for Roger and hope to work with him on another chimney project in 2020.

"I feel extremely fortunate to have had the excellent service, skill and craftsmanship from Craftsman Choice. Mike Ziegler, Jeff Witt, Darrin and Phil from the roofing crew, Michael from the siding crew, Jose from the shingling crew and Valente from the painting crew (and of course all of the workers who worked with them) not only did an excellent job and provided great leadership, but they were attentive to every single question or concern I had. This is an extremely talented team of people. I live in a 1920s cottage-style house and wanted to maintain the integrity and original style of my home. I got bids from three different construction companies, but none of them paid attention to the details like Craftsman. They followed through on every item. Highly recommended!
