I rarely write a review but Lowell Russell Concrete was so impressive on every aspect of our new driveway they deserve my taking the time to do so. We have an extremely difficult driveway where the main driveway and a side driveway come together at different angles on the crest of a slope. Other contractors were confused as to how to address it and we actually got Lowell’s name from one of his competitors who said “You really need to call Lowell!” On Lowell’s arrival he studied the driveways for a bit and then carefully explained how to address the situation at a level a layman would understand. Further Lowell gave us a fair estimate on what others deemed a difficult job. He also made sure we understood what he will do and what he won’t do so we would not have any surprises. For example he stated that even though his crew tries to minimize surrounding landscape damage there may be some and they are not landscapers. This became important when we asked Lowell to also replace a curving sidewalk through a flower garden. I totally expected at least one side of the flower garden to be destroyed removing the old walk with the Bobcat. But they tiptoed that machine trough the garden and there was very minimal damage. Watching the crew pour the driveways and sidewalks was a thing of beauty! Every crew member knew his job and they worked like a well oiled machine . Making a difficult drive look like a walk in the park. Their decades of experience in concrete was very apparent in their work. Many neighbors have stopped by to say how much our new driveway enhances our home. In short, Lowell Russell Concrete earned my 5 stars. You have found your concrete man!

Lowell Russell, the owner, was involved in all aspects of the process. He came out to estimate, made sure he understood what I needed and quoted accordingly. He stayed in touch and was good at communicating. We had a couple of changes to the original plan and Lowell understood what we wanted. I would definitely recommend them

Lowell and his crew were amazing! We hired them the first time to deliver a 13x16 concrete patio as well as install a concrete apron on our 3-car garage, since the asphalt had settled unevenly since our house was built. We had three contractors over to bid on the job. Lowell was not the lowest but was by far the most professional, he was prompt, communicated clearly, provided options without any pressure, and told us just what to expect. The work was done on schedule and his crew worked fast! We had him back a second time when we decided to expand out concrete patio, and again his service was excellent. I highly recommend Lowell Russell Concrete!!!

Lowell and his crew did an excellent job. He met with me to provide an estimate while I waited. His crew was prompt and efficient. They communicated with me throughout the entire process. We had a garage floor and short driveway removed and replaced. The job took two days. We could not be happier. And they were the lowest bid. Bonus.

They totally trashed our yard during installation. They didn't put plywood down before they drove their Bobcat in our yard and ripped up a large portion of our yard. They cut the hose to our sprinkler system and left it laying in the yard. They removed 25 feet of existing curbing and didn't replace it when they finished. So... after all is said and done, we've had to re-sod a portion on our back yard, replace and reroute the sprinkler system in the back yard and have the curbing replaced - all at our expense. The owner was very rude and condescending when we tried to work with him. I strongly urge you to take your business elsewhere!

"I was not or ever have been rude to a customer we did little damage to the yard I had asked for the sprinklers to be turned off the yard was wet when we got there our bobcat has 16” wide tracks it’s made to go over lawns the contract was written for bobcat access I don’t use $2,000.00 dollars of heavy plywood which the bobcat will trash the one sprinkler line ran through the patio I had to be removed the concrete landscape edging was to low it was removed to be raised up later if concrete met to edging elevation water would run to it if the patio was lower to run water away it would be lower than the yard I only contacted Jim and talked and explained everything the him prior to starting it was a week later when I came to collect is when I meet Jim’s wife i just had to listen to her complaints she was unwilling to listen to me when I was leaving I asked Jim to try and explain everything to her I told Jim that I would help level up the edging and reposition the sprinkler head I took money of for the little bit of grass and it wasn’t $6,000.00 it was $5,888.00 I took cost off of that she did say the patio looked beautiful I’m accurate in all that we do I explain the process I wish I could have explained to her also the extra cost of not having bobcat access my machine will easily out dig 40 men that’s different cost"

The overall process was very smooth. Lowell is extremely knowledgeable and started with a very informative estimate of all the possibilities he was considering for the project. He has a substantial portfolio of past work to view as well. The timeline was accurate and he was updating us every step of the way if something changed. We happened to be out of town the week of the project but communication was never an issue. The final product was amazing. Everything he outlined for us to expect and see from the finished product was true. The one critique I have is that we were unaware of some of the landscaping issues with the surrounding sod that we now have to fix to make level with the new driveway. It would have been nice to know how much he would have to dig down and change the look of everything surrounding the driveway/walkway

I did have a lower offer, but I felt the slightly higher price was more than offset by the professionalism and knowledge of LRC, and that I'd end up with a higher quality longer lasting driveway, that was as good as it could possibly be.

After getting 6 bids for this project I hired Lowell Russell. He was the most articulate and knowledgable about how to resolve our water and drainage issues for the driveway, patio and walks. His work is excellent. The crew is highly skilled and hard working. His suggestions for improvement were all well worth the extra $ we had not planned on spending. He provided multiple options to work with our budget and what we were trying to accomplish. His price came in mid range and competitive, with more value added than other bids. This project was done in late fall. As of this spring, our water issues are resolved! I highly recommend Lowell Russell!

We were very disappointed when we returned home after they had finished and found parts of our sprinkler system laying in many places in the front yard and many feet of hose and frayed wires laying on the grass on either side of the driveway. We had to pay the sprinkler company to repair the lines that were under the driveway and will be paying a landscaper to fill in the several inch gaps on either side of the driveway and step. We felt the cleanup could have been much better, but the driveway is good. We know two other people who were pleased with their work, which is why we hired them.

It went perfect. His crew is one of the most hardworking crew's I have watched. The driveway looks awesome. They showed up on time and ready to work each day. They cleaned up after themselves each day to where you couldn't tell that they had been there other than watching the driveway and walkway progressing. They kept me informed along the way. Lowell helped choose the colors and his vision for appeal and how things will look in the end comes out right on point. While they were one of the most expensive bids I received however they are worth the extra money, the concrete PSI, 2 seal coats and guarantee was not matched by anyone else. I would recommend them to everyone.

We hired them to pour a stamped patio in our backyard. The price was fair. They had a great rating and feedback on Angies List. It looked great for the first 4 months. Before the first freeze it developed a very large fracture/crack that extended for 15 feet. This is a smaller patio so this crack ran the length of the patio. This happened approximately 4-5 months after it was completed. We did not had the first freeze of the year. I called them and they said they would come out in the spring. They came out next spring and placed some flexible silicone ( I think that is what it was made of ) into the crack. I have had to redo the silicone. I'm disappointed that this crack developed less than 6 months after it was completed. I still feel they are a good company but the way this was handled was not something I agree with. I understand concrete can crack, but I've never had any other concrete crack so quickly.

Lowell and team came out and installed a stamped concrete patio behind our garage in the backyard. Lowell was very friendly, helpful and does high quality work. We're very happy with the results. We have a clump maple with shallow roots, a number of which had to be cut out to install the patio. We were worried about those cracking the patio, but it's been two years now and the patio hasn't cracked at all and still looks great.

It went well.. love the quality of the work, now my driveway is looking better than ever. Scheduling is very flexible with Lowell (he's trying to accommodate my schedule that keeps changing and make me feels the most important client in the world). His crew worked fast and efficient. Very well. The team was professional and gave us expectations of what they'd do and how long it would take. The only issue (while small) was that I didn't have a good sense for when they'd start until right before they came out. I think that may have been due to the weather conditions in the fall, so I'll definitely give them a pass.
