Great, except the salesman didn't tell the crew what color was agreed in the contract so they were built wrong color.

Holmlund did a very good job. They provided a very clear proposal with pictures of the areas to be done and the associated pricing. They showed up on time, did good work and cleaned up afterward. A few years later we had an issue in one section, which they quickly resolved for us. Net, they were great and I would hire them again.

They did a very nice job, the estimate was less than others we had gotten and they do a lot of masonry work. They did nice work. We went with them because of price, reputation and responsiveness.

The work took all day. It was very hot/sunny and I was concerned about roof shingles being damaged. The crew of four, used large burlap rugs that prevented any damage from occurring to the shingles. They worked efficiently together and it was obvious that they cared about doing a good job.....with the chimney looking like a piece of art when done. One of the colored stone/bricks was cracked and needed to be replaced. They noticed a similar looking stone in the backyard......they cut and shaped it perfectly to fit....one cannot tell that it was "new".

I would think twice about hiring Holmlund for any work.  We acquired a problem after the work was completed and the customer service was terrible.  It took about a month for Tim to even come out to take a look and even with all his lip service about making it right he never did.  The customer service for this company is awful.  I had to call many times in one week just to get a phone call back.  Not what I look for in a company.

From what I can tell the work looks good. However, communication and professionalism with this company was not as easy--I witnessed a very disgusting incident from one of the contractors (see last paragraph). When I emailed them to questions about the two separate estimates that I received, I did not get a reply. I called in the next week and was able to speak with someone. Then, when I emailed them back to follow up and let them know which estimate I wanted to move forward with, I didn't receive a reply again. After sending a second email and asking them specifically to reply, they finally did. They said they were scheduling two weeks out, but I received a call early the next week and was told that they would come later in the week. "Great," I thought! I was told I would receive another call the day that the contractors were coming out to do the work. At that time they weren't certain on which day they would come. I received no such call, and instead they showed up mid-afternoon on a Thursday, completely unannounced, right I was trying to put my small child down to sleep. (Of course with the clanging of the crew setting up the scaffolding next to his room, he never got his nap. Not their fault specifically, but had I received a call with a specific date and time of arrival, I might have had time to adjust things at home.) Late in the work day, I was looking out my front window to see what the crew was up to (in other words, seeing if they were packing up). I witnessed one of the contractors leaning against his truck urinating into a paper cup. "Ok," I thought, "these guys don't have a bathroom and I didn't explicitly offer mine to them." I was prepared to let it go. But then, I watched as he turned around, looked right and left to make sure no one was looking, and dump the cup of pee onto my lawn. I find this absolutely unacceptable. First, it's technically public urination, second, I take a lot of time and effort to keep a nice lawn, and third, HE DUMPED HIS URINE ON MY LAWN! My kid plays on that lawn...and now it has a random man's pee all over it. I called the company that night and one of the employees apologized and said that Tim would call me the next day to discuss it. Based on the communication issues I had early on, I guess it was foolish of me to get my hopes up. I didn't received that call. Really disappointing and because of this incident, I could never recommend this company to someone.

I could not be happier with the work that Holmlund Masonry did for us.  I will hire them again to do work on the facade of our house.  More detail below.

Our 84-year-old limestone/stucco chimney was falling apart and needed to be repaired.  We called to get an estimate April 2015, which they promptly provided.  The quote was for $7995 to repair the chimney.  Tim spent a good 45 minutes on the phone with me answering all of my questions and offering his advice on the aesthetics of our project.  We did not have 8 grand to spend last summer so we waited and our chimney got worse.  I called them back in February of this year to find out when they could start working.  They told me March and that they would honor the estimate from last April. 

Tim came to our house on a Saturday to show us some brick options.  We were concerned about the look of a brick chimney with our stucco house.  His taking the time to come out and talk to us about our options really put our minds at ease. Once we decided on the bricks, they took the chimney down the first day and had the new one up in another 3 days with roofing on the 4th.  The crew, who all work for Holmlund Masonry, ie aren't sub-contractors, were great.  As I said above, we couldn't be happier with the job they did.  It's never fun to have to spend that kind of money unless it's on a pinball machine or maybe a 2004 Toyota Corolla, but I'm sure glad we went with Holmlund Masonry.

Tim and his crew did a great job. They worked hard in very cold weather. It was a big project involving piles of bricks and cement but they did a good job of cleaning up after themselves each day. Very pleasant and hardworking. The house looks great. It was a lot of money, but we're very pleased with the work.

Holmlund Masonry rebuilt the top one foot of my chimney. I climbed up on the roof the next day to take a look and was very impressed with their work. It looks perfect and the chimney works better than it ever has. I no longer have any smoke coming into the house or squirrels in the chimney. They even managed to save the chimney cap and re-install it when they were done. Everything was cleaned up well and any time I called their office everyone was polite and helpful. I highly recommend this company.

The company completed the work on time, and exactly to budget.  The work looks really professional, and was done very well.  They were the cheapest option after searching around.
