  • Guardian Chimney Solutions LLC
Too bad I cannot fill in a 6th star out of the 5. The workmanship of Guardian Chimney Solutions was exceptional. Additionally, the crew was professional at every level. Joe patiently distinguished himself from the other bids I entertained in that the other two operations suggested I do a complete teardown and rebuild (the easy option). Joe on the otherhand knew how important it was for me to have the integrity of the brickwork on the chimney and around the house to be integrated and authentic. He was more interested in doing it right even though my choice of pluck and replace and pointtucking involved a higher level of difficulty on his crew. In the end, the bill was actually lower than the other bids. In summary, I not only received top-notch workmanship and professionalism at a fair price, but true artisanship. These guys are the best. Attention to detail - timely work without sacrificing quality was key. And they really helped with the communication with insurance adjuster. All in all, a very positive experience.

Terry gave us a sound estimate, explained thoroughly what he would do and showed up at the promised time. He did the work in less than two days and the results are excellent. He kept expenses consistent with the estimate. We would definitely hire him again.

  • Mike Nagel Masonry LLC
Mike did an excellent job ! He was on time, worked really hard in the 95 degree heat, cleaned up, very fair price and even did an extra repair that I was not expecting. To top it off, he is a very kind and knowledgeable person. Highly recommend.

We hired Dan and the project turned out even better than we had hoped. But it wasn’t just the final product that we appreciated. The guys were prompt, worked hard and efficiently together. We noticed that they had a great attitude and were respectful to not only us but to each other. It’s the little things like arriving on time and cleaning up after themselves every day, the attention to details like brick design and angles for optimal draining and problem solving when giant tree roots get in the way! They truly did a great job every step of the project. We will recommend Dan and his company to anyone looking for a concrete job of any size. Cannot go wrong! Thank you so much, we love it read less

  • Craftsman's Choice Inc
Our old garage was literally sinking into the ground, so we new we needed to replace it. We shopped around for years and ultimately got a bid from Craftsman because they had done such great work with other window and woodworking projects we've had. They came in at about the same price as two of our other lowest estimates, but with higher quality materials (HardiePlank instead of vinyl siding, etc) and we knew that they take pride in their work and were easy to work with. So we went with them. They tore down the old garage, laid the new foundation and framed it up in 2 weeks--it was lighting fast. After that, there was a bit of a delay in getting the siding up and finishing the project, but overall it was inordinately fast, about 4-5 weeks until final inspection, and all of our neighbors were surprised by the speed, quality and professionalism of the crew. The final product is beautiful, they are one of the best companies in the country for installing HardiePlank, the garage is extra tall, with an 8 foot tall door, 2x6 construction, plenty of storage room, and everything that we wanted. We had a fence that connected to the old garage and Craftsman even took care of moving the door and a panel to make it work with the new garage (larger footprint), as well as removing a bush to make a new path along side the garage. They took care of all the little details and didn't nickel-and-dime us, they just looked at it as one project that they wanted to do to our complete satisfaction, and they did so. We will definitely keep using them for any project they'll do and strongly recommend them. We have used a lot of contractors over the years to work on our old house, and they are the best in terms of a combination of quality/professionalism/price read less

We met with Mike (sales person) at our home. Mike was very professional and attentive. We had a list of questions, and also gave him several 13" x 19" computer renderings of exactly what we wanted to have done. We were very prepared. Mike answered all of our questions. Craftsman's Choice also has some nice features such as having your project in the cloud so you can just check on when different segments of your job is being scheduled. They also provide you with a very detailed bid. We received Mike's bid via an email. We had originally started out with three businesses all chosen from a very extensive and detailed search of many sites including Angie's List. One of the businesses we eliminated because they would not email a bid, but wanted a face-to-face meeting to present the bid, which we did not want. Both remaining businesses (Craftsman's Choice and one other) were extremely competitive in their bids. We (my wife and I) finally made a 12 category questionnaire in which we could grade each business between a 1 and a 10. Both businesses came out exactly the same average points. Better in some areas, worse in others. We finally went with the other firm only because of several Angie's List reviews that indicated a similar problem with Craftsman's Choice, but this was minor. We emailed Mike informing him we had chosen another firm. Mike emailed us back and was very professional and even asked how he could improve his presentation. We are very sure that we would have been pleased with the work if we had chosen Craftsman's Choice. But in the end you have to choose one business. Both were extremely competitive in pricing and professional in their presentation. And if the other business (which did not have those few negative reviews) did not exist, we would have gone with Craftsman's Choice without hesitation. In the end it was a "gut decision" and one which was hard for us to make read less

We selected Craftsman's Choice on the strong recommendation of our perfectionist neighbor, who was satisfied with their work. During the project, I had numerous others stop by to tell me that they had used Craftsman's Choice, too, and were pleased with the service. We had extensive work done--a complete redo of the exterior of our home, which is now one of the best-looking houses in the neighborhood. I was completely satisfied with the work quality, professionalism, and particularly the character of Ben Juncker, who worked with us closely throughout the process. Ben understood that we lead busy lives and that he would have to take charge not only of his responsibilities of the project (employees, scheduling, etc.), but that he would have to be persistent in helping guide us through our decisions and to make it easy for us to do our part to keep the project moving along. In short, Ben was able to manage us as well as his employees. I had enough confidence in Ben's character and attention to detail to let him make certain selections, and we were not disappointed by doing so. In sum, I would hire Craftsman's Choice again, and have plans to do so for another project next spring read less

Keith came out to meet with us several times to inspect our property, prepare his bid, and go over the proposal with us. He was very thorough, professional and we really enjoyed getting to know him. He stood out compared to the several other bids that we got. The team came out and did an outstanding job taking out the old, rotting trim and replacing it with new product. They primed the wood on all sides (a very important step that some people miss and will cause problems down the road) and installed it very efficiently. We painted the trim ourselves. They accidentally cracked a window when they were working (it's a 90 year old house, we weren't surprised) and offered to replace it at no cost to us. They are a stand-out company in terms of price, quality and professionalism, definitely use them--we will certainly continue to do so. Finally, we had them install a new front door that we purchased and stained ourselves. They did a great job and their price was better than any bid we got. 5 stars read less
