Customers say: True professional

"Jason gave us a very fair bid and did a quick but very thorough job. We asked him to replace both tub and lav sink faucets, remove some old PVC and galvanized pipes and streamline our laundry sink setup. He completed all the work and cleaned up after himself as well. We will use him again for additional projects."

"Ronnie was awesome! He worked hard and got the job done in a timely manner. His rates were very reasonable. Tore up floor and replace rotted pipes. The place was a mess but he cleaned it up completely. Out of five stars I give him 10."

"I want to give a huge shout-out to Derek Kragenbring from SafeBasements for his integrity and professionalism. We had persistent basement flooding, and two previous contractors convinced us to spend over $6,000 on a sump pump and humidifier. After the install, the flooding got worse, and they suggested tearing down our bathroom wall for more work. We called SafeBasements for a second opinion, and Derek quickly identified the real issue: our water softener was discharging water into a clogged drain. We didn't need a sump pump at all—just a simple plumbing fix! Thank you, Derek, for your honesty. You saved us from a massive headache and even more unnecessary expenses. We only wish we had called you sooner. If you need an honest, expert assessment, definitely reach out to Derek at SafeBasements!"

"Excellent!!  this provider is extremely qualified, responsive and very quality oriented.  His team arrived on time, were very polite and friendly and you could tell they all worked together as a team.  I had prepared a grading plan and Jason was so exact in his quest to give me the best drainage possible, he repeated taking grade measurements throughout his process.  He must have re-verified the gradient at least 8 times to make sure we got it right.  Great job of grading and sodding and debris removal.  Price was good and what we had agreed upon.  I would use him again in a heartbeat!!!  I would also recommend him to others.

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

While you don’t have to run out and immediately buy a new toilet at the first sign of a clog, if the toilet keeps clogging because it’s a low-flow or poorly designed model, a new toilet may be the way to go. If your toilet keeps clogging, you can try using less toilet paper, adjusting the fill valve, checking the toilet vent pipe on the roof, and using a toilet auger to make sure nothing is stuck in the pipe or trap.

Unlike regular cleanings, snaking your sewer line should be done as needed. There’s no reason to snake your sewer line if you don’t have any noticeable issues, like slow drainage or plugged drains. You can add it to your regular sewer cleaning checklist as a prevention method (on the same 18- to 22-month schedule), but it’s not always necessary.

Keep your egress window from flooding by ensuring that the drainage system in the window well is clear and in good working condition. Inspect the window well every few months to remove any blockages and test the drainage system. It’s better to discover potential problems before your window well fills with water during heavy rain.

Air gaps get clogged by a few different means. Over time, food and grime can collect in the air gap, leading to a blockage. Mineral deposits from hard water are a common problem. Mineral buildup creates a film in the air gap and tubing, which can cause flow issues, as well as attract debris. Homeowners with hard water may want to remove mineral deposits regularly to keep the air gap clean and clear.

No, you should avoid using liquid drain cleaners. These chemicals, often packed with sulfuric or hydrochloric acid, can wreak havoc on your pipes, causing erosion and potential leaks. They’re also dangerous to your health. If you’re dealing with a stubborn clog, manual removal or a professional plumber is your best bet. Chemical drain cleaners can often make things worse, especially if the clog stays put and the chemicals linger in your pipes.
